I always assumed they already knew each other. I can’t really remember their first episode together. Okay, just writing this it seems to come back to me… it seemed like they didn’t know each other, didn’t it? __________________

 To me it seemed like they didn't know each other, but I don't know that it makes sense as later on I'm sure its implied that they did know each other as I'm sure Gibbs mentions that he tried to warn Fornell about the wife  . Could be one of those things that when they developed the character more decided to give him a connection to Gibbs even though they made it seem like he didn't already know Gibbs in the first ep  __________________

Exactly, it wouldn’t make any sense. But now that you mentioned it, I remember their first episode together and it really did seem that they didn’t know each other. It wouldn’t make sense on any level considering they share an ex-wife I guess it must be like you said, Chelle, that they decided to make Fornell more than just a one time appearance in S1  __________________

That's what I would think is that they knew each other because of the ex as well. But yeah I don't remember either when they first knew each other. Pretending is good __________________

It’s what they do when they get out of the elevator after having had friendly discussions in there too. They always pretend to be mad at each other, so maybe it was the same thing with the ex-wife
