I somehow wish that we'd have had a better last moment between these 2...
... I mean the phone call was kind of nice, with Rule 91 - and Gibbs basically accepting Ellie's decision to move on, just like Ellie made peace with Gibbs never going back to NCIS... Over the years they had quite a few intense scenes, and sometimes Gibbs was right, other times Bishop... I loved the scene with Ellie walking to the fast food place with Gibbs' baseball bat, it was a nice reminder to one of their early s11 scenes - from the episode, where Ellie officially becomes a probie... __________________

I don't remember that scene but that sounds like a good call back to the earlier one (I know the early one you're talking about)
Yeah they didn't get a proper goodbye. They both were off doing their own things though so I get why. At least they had something & it was decent. But could've been so much more __________________
