It's an example of sexism in a way because fans of action films are able to see their movies without feeling like they have to hide it or apologize or made to feel like liking "Twilight" is bad and it isn't.

And, no Bella's not conventionally strong but she does get what she wants and having a relatable female protagonist is often missing in literature and movies and Bella Swan was the blueprint for a lot of female characters in literature and movies.

Thanks. I think that relatable, young protagonists seem to have taken over YA literature and movies but Bella and Kristen don't get the credit that they deserve because without them and the success of "Twilight" there are several books and movie franchises that wouldn't exist in my opinon.

To this day, people and the media still diss Twilight. I remember when the books became so popular that girls HAD to read them to fit in at that time. And yes, Bella WAS a GOOD role model! There have even been articles written about that very thing.

I think that people inside and outside of the media like to give Bella a hard time because she wasn't a conventional role model and the thing is Edward didn't get in her way.
