The weather machine on GH

I actually watched this on YT a few years ago. I liked the build up of it, but once it got to the island it got a little silly. It sure beats anything GH has had in years though. It was very comic book like. Personally, I don't mind those kind of stories, but they are very polarizing. One of my favorite characters was Alexandria Quartermaine and I was sad she got killed by the weather machine. Wasted potential.

Of the classic Luke and Laura stories, the best though was Left handed Boy with Frank Smith.

I actually thought the David Gray stuff with Luke using his psychic powers that came with a magic sword to push David Gray out the window was sillier than the weather machine.

I have a general question that's not about a specific storline, but how do you like this social distancing on soap operas that effects storylines? I don't mind it at this time much, but it will be nice if hopefully by this time next year that isn't necessary to do.

I personally don't like it. Especially on UK soaps (Eastenders) because there are good storylines that need contact. I know it's nice to the soaps back but it's taking the luster out of some soaps.

I loved Luke's reaction to Robert being alive during the virus story.

Luke: I'm dead. I'm dead and gone to HELL.
Robert: No, but they're looking for you.

How you feel about the virus is how I feel about hotel fire era. They first had to take a hatchet to Stefan, then Zander. They were even going to kill Edward, but ended up putting him on recurring and recasting instead. Oh and we got AJ dying the first time too, with his loving sweet sister Emily saying on his death bed he deserved to be there, basically. Years later, its Emily they choose to escort AJ to Heaven. Yeah. We also got to see sweet angelic Emily have fantasies of killing Zander.

As much as I love the 2000’s of GH man oh man did they kill off a lot of people.Just from memory Courtney, Emily, Georgie, Tony and Alan. I was okay with most of them but killing Alan should have never happened and I think GH never quite recovered

Zander was obsessed so I get why she wanted him gone in those fantasies. No means no.

I’ve never heard of the 2006 virus?

I hate how so many staple family characters were killed. It made the show lean towards Sonny’s never ending dominance on the show.

It was encephalitis that I think Luke? Got while he was traveling, I can’t remember the specifics. Tony died from it and Courtney was pregnant and was having complications so she sacrificed herself for the baby (spencer)

The fact she was having those dreams was creepy in the first place. She could have just broke up with Zander like a normal person instead of stringing him along, metaphorically backing the car over his heart over and over.

It was the monkey virus Luke brought to town. It was around the time Robert came back from the dead. Holly was suddenly a bioterrorist and held the antidote ransom. Jason and Carly ultimately saved the day.

There was also in 2003 Stefan, 2004 Zander, 2005 AJ. I consider these worse than those you mentioned because of the outright character assasinstion before they killed them off. With maybe the exception of Alan cause he was such an iconic character.

Alan was bad, a travesty. With Emily-- I hated on principle that the killed another Q, but did not miss NL. I did not understand killing Georgie either. Tony didn't really have anything more useful to contribute, and I thought they gave him a beautiful send off. Courtney is a character that never should have been created in the first place imo.

Speaking of storylines I did not like from the past on GH I got to bring up Asian Quarter. It surrounded this Asian gang, and I found it incredibly offensive and racist the way Robert was going around questioning and suspecting every Asian person he saw.
