Season 5 Appreciation #1
Season Five Discussion Thread Ted starts his first day as an architecture professor, standing in the middle of a classroom - although the mother was present, it turns out not to be the architecture class he is supposed to teach. Barney and Robin have had a sexual relationship throughout the summer and Lily locks them in a room, forcing them to come to terms with their relationship. After a rough patch they decide to break up. Robin describes it instead as "two friends getting back together." Barney immediately goes back to his old ways, using the playbook to score with women. Ted dates a graduate student named Cindy (Rachel Bilson) and it is revealed that her roommate is his future wife. Ted buys a ruined house in which he will live with his future wife and kids. In the season finale, Marshall and Lily make the decision to have a baby. Episode List __________________

Why I like season five? Three words: Zoo or False.

I wanna know what really happened there, seriously.
The ending scene was great though, the chimp, the doll, the paper planes __________________

There's always that one. Too short lived...I was not a fan of what they did to BR. You have Barney lusting after her for like an entire season and then bam, they got ugly and fat so no.

And its weird cause Robins been in plenty of relationships before where she didnt get ugly, why this one? she dates Ted for an entire year with nothing going wrong and then se goes out with Barney and she lets herself go?

I think it's just because the writers sort of let it happen. They didn't have a good enough reason to break them up so they went with this. It's lazy and sloppy and there are pretty ways to end something like that.

Definately I mean the break up was OOC for both of them, theres lots of ways to get a couple to break up, especially two people with as many issues as B and R

IKR? Of all things they could use to break them up they went with that.
And it bugs me that they literally just had their episode where they went over the fighting hump in their relationship, all of that was for nothing? __________________

You know I was thinking about Jake and Peyton from OTH (one of my ultimate OTPs) for some reason and then I thought about how ridiculous their break up was (I mean Peyton saying 'I love you Lucas' in her sleep? ) and then I realized that maybe the couples that have the most ridiculous break ups are the most perfect couples cause the writers cant think of any logical and realistic reason to get these two people who are clearly made for each other to break up so they have to think of something really OOC
Anyways though the writers never did fix their mistake with Jeyton, it looks like theyre back on the BR train with HIMYM __________________

I can see what you're trying to say..but I shipped Leyton so... It's kind of what happened with JD/Elliot, my first TV OTP. JD pines after Elliot for two seasons (really since the begining of the series) and then all of a sudden "Oh I wanted what I couldn't have." Epic FAIL.
But they fixed that at the end, beautifully I might add, the same can be done for BR . __________________
