I am having some trouble staying interested in the current book I'm reading, because the books bounces between so many narrators, and I don't care enough about some characters to read about their journey for hundreds of pages.

No, I haven't read those. I might give them a chance at some point, if that would give me a better appreciation of the character. He is a good character, and I like his interactions with Jamie, and their friendship is great, but I would rather just read the whole story from Claire POV.
