Eric really did develop a spine over the seasons. By season 5, it was in full-effect. He never would've gone off to California otherwise or stood up to Red so much -- and to Kitty.

True, in S1 he was so afraid of going against Red. He was still afraid to go to California but I think it helped that Hyde had already bought the ticket for him. All he had to do was go and they would cover for him.

Yeah, Eric trusted his friends. He was right to -- except Jackie isn't his friend.

She really did burn him good.

I wonder if Eric would've gotten away with it had Jackie not said anything.

I can't either.

But it was still quite the burn -- and not one Hyde would've done himself. He cared too much about Eric to screw him over like that.

True, but he was impressed by Jackie's balls and still kept from Eric that his parents knew. He was in on the burn as well.

Yup. Once the triggered was pulled, he went with it.

He also knew Eric wouldn't be seriously hurt by either Red or Kitty. Grounded, yelled at, general punishment --but Eric wouldn't be kicked out.

Oh, me, too.

Eric loves his Donna.

I wonder what would've happened had Eric not gone to California. I'm sure he and Donna still would've reconciled, but maybe they would've dealt with the reason for their breakup.

Lisa, that's a good question. It could make for a wonderful One Difference story! I think Donna and Eric would've made up but it would've been nice to see them deal or at least talk about the things from their break up and from right before Donna left to California

I would've liked to see Red and Kitty give Eric some advice about continuing his relationship with Donna. Red helped Eric with his depression, and Kitty helped Eric out in the early seasons.

Oh yay! Glad to hear it'll be included Lisa.

And I think I would have enjoyed seeing Red give Eric advice on being with Donna then having him play the villian and trying to stop their engagement. I didn't really like the behaviors of any of the adults during that storyline, I thought it was a complete turn from when they were all excited about their first date.
