Eric might write Red a letter once he was home but not send it (or hand it in). Then someone, let's say Fez, would find it and deliver it.

Red: He's run away before. He'll be back.

Donna: That was down the street! He's fled the continent!

Red: He'll still come back. He always comes back.

She probably would. Maybe Donna trains just to be able to outrun him.

I like when Donna stands up to Red. On the show she usually did so to defend Eric.

She certainly tried. Though she was also intimidated by him and hid behind Eric sometimes.

Donna and Eric would so have to put up boundaries when Kitty and Red both interfered with their parenting style. You just know Kitty and Red wouldn't approve of how Eric and Donna raise their kids, and neither Donna nor Eric would allow Red to treat their kids the way he treated Eric.

I can see Donna being able to be a little more assertive about it than Eric. Of course, being a parent Eric might be able to stand up to them a little more.

I think Eric having kids would bring out his stronger side. When someone or something is really important to him, he can be quite resolute. He didn't back down when Red pulled all those tricks to get him to break off his engagement to Donna. I can see that same protectiveness for his kids.

That is a very good point. I think when something is at stake for Eric, he finds his inner strength so to speak.
