CBS pulls Dohring into 'Moonlight'

"Veronica Mars" alum Jason Dohring is reuniting with the show's producers, Warner Bros. TV and Silver Pictures, with a co-starring role on "Moonlight," their new series for CBS. The drama centers on a private investigator (Alex O'Loughlin) who is a vampire. Dohring will play ancient vampire Josef. He replaces 60-year-old Rade Serbedzija, who played the part in the pilot presentation before the character was reconceptualized as a young, mischievous hedge-fund trader. Dohring, who played Veronica Mars' (Kristen Bell) on-and-off boyfriend Logan on the critically praised CW drama, is the second new addition to "Moonlight" cast, along with recently cast Sophia Myles.

It was no problem to find the trailer. I'm very excited about it, too.

I've just had someone find the sides for Jason's role. I'm going to read them in a few minutes or tomorrow. I'll have thoughts later.

I read the sides and WOW. The scene is something I can totally see Jason doing. It made me even more excited. I love the fast talking, smiling merrily while he's threatening someone aspect of the whole thing.

Holy crap...I go away for a few hours and I come back to this???? Jason playing a vampire?! Am I dead? Seriously? This is like my dream come true...first David Boreanaz and now Jason.

Wow...I have people over tonight and am away from the computer and I come back to awesome news! I can't wait for this show now! I never have anything to watch on Fridays or CBS! OPJ Jason..as a vampire even. That'll be extremely nice.

So excited for this!

Can't say the trailer grabs me, seems very Angel-like, and.. I didn't really like Angel. And I have never in my life actually enjoyed a show with a male lead

but I'll get over it, because vamp!Jason will definately be worth it

Of course I had to work last night when all the news came. Sometimes I hate my hours! But this is just the best. I'm so thrilled and Sam thanks for starting the thread. What's funny is and I mentioned this on the news thread was that I planned on skipping this show because I loved Buffy/ Angel so much and thought nothing would top that, etc. But now I have to watch and I'm perfectly happy to do so.

Please, please let this show be a success.
