Since Untitled Hawaii isn't going to festivals I have my fingers crossed so hard for this one, ARGH.

The next slate will be announced on August 6th. I really hope it will be part of this fall's festival season especially since this project is so low-key. I was also just possible they are aiming for a Berlinale premiere in February since Wim Wenders is from Germany.

I was trying to find some updates on this movie last night but no luck so far. Here are some this and that facts but nothing new really:

• The DP has the following banner on his official site which is similar to what we have seen:

• I also came across what seems to be the official fb account of actor Patrick Bauchau who is listed as 'Dad' at the IMDB cast list. He has an album with on set photos of the movie including one with Wim Wenders.
• The visual effect studio hasn't listed the movie yet on their site but they do have a news section and recently updated it saying they completed 'Serena' so I hope they will also make an update for ETWBF

Wim Wenders will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award during the Berlin Film Festival in February:
"part of a multi-film homage" makes me wonder if they will also screen ETWBF? And if they screen the movie I wonder if it's going to be the world premiere or European/German premiere. We know for sure it's not going to be part of TIFF or Venice this year.

The American Sniper stills and trailer were also shown at the conference but since ETWBF doesn't have an US distributor yet they probably won't release the trailer until they find one.

I'm really curious to see which release route they will follow. A Berlinale premiere seems likely and like Wendy mentioned maybe also Cannes? I wonder if this if they are considering this an award season contender. Some movie sites seems to think so since they included it in their anticipated 2014 movies lists.

it's wim wenders though. isn't he like cannes / film festival royalty? i don't think it'll be ready in time for 2014. films for the 2014 campaign start planning in the summer and we've heard nothing about this... no posters, no photo stills, nothing.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking that since we haven't heard anything a Spring festival debut would sound about right.

Yeah Cannes seems like a good fit. His latest documentary (The Salt of the Earth - which is very well received) premiered at Cannes, the one before that (Pina) premiered at Berlinale. His latest feature films (Palermo Shooting, Don't Come Knocking) also premiered at Cannes. I just checked his work and almost all his feature films have premiered at a film festival (Berlinale, Cannes or Venice).

I also noticed usually the theatrical release of his films are only a few weeks after it's festival fall premiere. It depends of course on the distributor but maybe it's something Wenders himself prefers?

I would translate it to, with my high school French , out of the 200 trailers the ETWBF one stood out/is one to look forward to or something like that
