A timely gift WME-IMG has donated $250,000 to the Southern Poverty Law Center. The agency also partnered with CBS to produce a star-packed PSA for the civil rights nonprofit that debuted before the Aug. 26 Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor fight. The roster included WME clients and/or CBS talent including Cristela Alonzo, Will Arnett, Kobe Bryant, Alan Cumming, Johnny Galecki, Tamron Hall, LL Cool J, Dakota Johnson, Gayle King, Tea Leoni, Rachel McAdams, Conan O’Brien, Michelle Rodriguez, Liam Hemsworth and Jason Segel reading a Nelson Mandela quote about tolerance — the same quote that former president Barack Obama shared in the most-liked Tweet ever. Since the initial airing of the PSA, which runs again this week on CBS platforms, the SPLC has seen donations increase by more than 664 percent. WME-IMG’s gift will allow the SPLC to double its budget for Teaching Tolerance Educator’s Grants next year.
