Girl Meets World - Board (Re)Customization

Hi everyone ,

The Fan Forum Graphics Team is in the process of (re)customising message boards and now it's your turn!

If you have any picture or colour suggestions please post them in this thread. Don't post (hotlink) the pictures, links to them are fine. Make sure that the pictures are of as high quality as possible and that the top of the head of the person in the picture isn't cropped off. We also like to use photoshoot images when possible, preferably individual pictures of each cast member. When suggesting colours please keep in mind that some colours will work better than others. The Team usually tries to avoid really vibrant and dark colours because we have found in the past that they are hard to look at for long periods of time. If you would like some help coming up with colour combinations we recommend checking out the design seeds website. As we want every board to have their own unique look it is preferable that you do not link to the customisations of other boards as suggested colour schemes.

Everyone is encouraged to voice their opinions for this as you are the ones who will be posting on the board and we hope to make as many people happy with the finished result as possible. It does not matter if you are a board moderator, regular poster, or casual poster here. If you have a suggestion, please share it here with us .

Your suggestions for possible pictures and colours will be taken into serious consideration, but in the interest of seeing every board receive the best customised look possible the final decision concerning how this board will be customised will be made by the members of the Graphics Team. This is because we want to make sure that the selected graphic and colours fit into the overall design scheme that we've established for Fan Forum.

For a full explanation of the message board customisation process, see this thread. If you have any questions, please feel free to send Mel, Chelle, or Rora a PM or ask the Team on the message board customisation thread.

Please leave this topped until a week or so after the board has been (re)customised.

Note: It usually takes approximately two weeks for us to finish making the new banner and the sooner we know what you want, the more we can work on it (though it can take a few months or so to set it up with the new colours on the board), so please let us know your suggestions as soon as possible.

When the Team have finished making the graphic I will close this thread until the graphic and colours get put up. It will then be re-opened so that you can share your thoughts about it.

^ Aw, that's so great! I'm going to look for pictures and think about the colors that makes me think of this show. I'll post them when I have them. =)

I hope visitors to the board will do the same.

Which characters would you like to include? Would you include more Boy Meets World ones as well as the Girl Meets World ones this time for example? Or just keep with the ones you've got now? I'm not familiar with either show so I don't know who is important to either

It appears that your current colours match the logo so would fit well. If you like them you can keep with similar ones. Or go with something else, up to you

^ I was thinking of having characters from both shows, but I'm having trouble narrowing down the list. Is there a maximum number of images that can be used?

As for the colors, I'm not sure yet. I'll let you know in a day or so once I've thought on it. =)

I think we should have the two main characters (Cory and Riley), the best friends (Shawn and Maya), the parents (Alan, Amy, and Topanga), and the teachers (Mr. Turner and Mr. Feeny), for sure.

The tricky part is which of the siblings (Eric, Morgan, Josh, and Auggie), and the other friends (Angela, Jack, Rachel, Lucas, Farkle, Zay and Smackle) to include.

As for the colors, when I think about the shows, the color that pops into my head is powder/light blue. Would that work? =)

I'm also going to give the customization thread another look in the morning.

Please share your thoughts on my suggestions, or even share your thoughts on what you would like to see. Come on, friends. Let's brainstorm some ideas.

I wish we could fit the characters from both shows in too

So for GMW we could have Riley, Maya, Auggie, Lucas & Farkle (& omit the others if we have to

)

& BMW it would be Cory, Shawn, Topanga, Eric, Feeny, Angela, Jack & Rachel - it's hard, but I feel like they were the most core characters

Another consideration is if you've got pictures for those characters as that may narrow down your choices

While it would be wonderful to be able to include everyone maybe stick with the parents/teachers/best friends since those seem to be your first picks? Or pick say 5/6 from each show or something? ~~If an equal amount from each show is important to you~~

May I suggest -

BMW:
Cory
Shawn
Alan
Amy
Mr. Turner

GMW:
Riley
Maya
Topanga
(Cory again? or Auggie to represent siblings?)
Mr. Feeny

That'd give you 10 but you could always throw in the other siblings for example to bring you to 13. Then you've got all the family, the teacher, & the best friend. Unfortunately leaving out other friends. Or go with Sophie's list which will also give you 13

Have you had a chance to take a look at the design seeds website? That may give you more inspiration for colours. If you're thinking powder/light blue I would suggest looking through these & maybe these. Those are just searching by colour of two different pale shades of blue tones. As you'll see, some colour schemes only have a little blue but others are more blue or all blue.

Something like this would be similar to what you've got now if you're thinking of keeping the purples?

^ That's tough, because I have found plenty of pictures of all of the characters that have been mentioned so far.

I'm looking at it now.

This or this look good. #A2D2F4 and #7ACAF4 have caught my eye.

That was my dilemma.

Both of those colour schemes are quite bright/harsh on the eyes. The second one doesn't look usable to me at all. While we can use those two colours you listed, we need more than two colours to make up the colour scheme for you

Are the pictures you found photoshoot/promotional pictures or just random shots from episodes or official episode stills?

There are some for Boy Meets World here, then S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, & S7

For some reason that site doesn't have any for Girl Meets World but I know they at least had the ones from the first season as we used them for your current banner. It does have this group shot though.

Don't know what you've found, or if you know of better quality versions but did find these:

Riley: S1 / S2 / S3
Maya: S1 / S2 / S3
Auggie: S1 / S2 / S3
Lucas: S1 / S2 / S3
Farkle: S1 / S2 / S3

The pictures I have found are individual and group pictures, and they are episode stills and promotional shots. I found all of them on google. I think I saw most of them in the links that you posted.

I can post my favorite pictures if that's what you need. Would individual pictures work best?

Those colour schemes work in general (minus the first link as those colours alone could be bright), as do those colours. But do you want all of those put together as your colour scheme or are you just listing colour codes? As I'm not sure how they'd all look together. I can put them into one colour scheme to show what they look like together if you'd like?

Individual promotional pictures is what we need. Presume that most of the team don't know either show so will need to know which character is which so a list with pics such as the one I did for GMW is best

. I'd recommend looking through the links I linked to to find the pictures, not Google. Unless the ones you get off Google look to be better quality (which I doubt)

ETA: Here's what the colours you listed look like together -

Overall, not the best colour scheme to work with. We'd need more paler shades, but the team can make those up based on those colours there if they are what you're thinking

^ The list of colors I posted are the colors that jumped out at me. I was hoping that a few of them would work well together.

I can look for another color if you need a few paler shades. If you need more color options, what colors would you suggest I check out?

Okay. I'll look through the links you posted, check out the list I have, and I'll post the images that I like. I should have it by Tuesday at the latest. =)

Its up to you if you trust the team to be able to create their own light shades based on what you've already suggested, or want to create your own

. All the team would do is take one of those shades and find a paler version of it (if that makes sense).

Ok, when you've got the chance to do that

. Sooner is better to give the team the time to create their graphics, but understandable that real life comes first
