Kelly Clarkson - The Voice Appreciation Thread #1 - Because she has one of the greatest voices today

So several people have mentioned to me that we are missing a thread on one of the main Kelly features: HER VOICE.

So this is it. Discuss, admire, gush, worry....this is the KC Voice thread.

I personally think her voice is divine.

OMG...
I LOVE her voice

Especially love the fact that when she sings a rockier song, she has a little raspy voice. And when she sings a balled, her voice is sooo clean

What I love best about her voice is how versatile it is. She is really one of the very few people who can sing Mariah, and then turn around and sing Aerosmith and Reba and make it ALL sound absolutely convincing. She never sounds like a pop chick trying to sing rock. She sounds rock. She never sounds like some popstar attempting country. She sounds country.

She's absolutely gifted.

What's your favorite performance of Kelly's in terms of vocals?

Yeah it's a really tough question...I'm not even sure I can answer it myself

I know that on american Idol, my favorite vocal performance was Think Twice. Just pure genius as far as vocals go!

T.L.: How would you describe your voice?

K.C.: My voice is pretty dang loud apparently, because they had to get special padding for my mic. I’ve always been very loud. Big-voice feisty. A very emotional voice. I don’t like singing unless I am actually feeling what I am singing.

I think Kelly has done every genre except rap. It's amazing she's definitely unique.

Thank you for that quote. I had forgotten that she had said that about her voice. It's true though...I remember a reviewer from back in the American Idol days who was at the Final Four show and had written that Kelly's voice was the only one to fill out the whole auditorium. I believe he or some other reviewer had also said that it was so easy to picture yourself at a Kelly Clarkson concert when you heard her voice echo throughout the room.

One of my favorites also has to be her cover of "Why" on tour. She made her voice seem sooo vulnerable and fragile during that song, perfectly matching the lyrics.

seriously, kel's voice is amazing. she can sing anything. and she sings it well.

my favorite performance of her is singing ttwli on ryan seacrest's tv show. she hit some high notes there!

Hmmm...good wuestion actually. I don't think that any of Kelly's fellow twenty somethings in the industry has the kind of voice she has right now. Maybe that's just me. Kelly's is powerful and is very unique in the sense that it's like a cameleon. It molds itself into any genre.

her voice in all the australian shows so far has been crystal clear. hope it stays that way for the tour.

I agree. So far from what I've seen, her voice in all the overseas promo has been really good. All of her performances lately have been vocally amazing actually.
