Agreed. They could've easily had them become closer/better friends instead of giving them an instant back story that didn't line up with the first few episodes of s1.

They could've easily bonded post breakups and she still could've kept her distance from him because she didn't want to hurt Brooke.

The way things went, I'm actually okay with how s1 ended. If they were still going to have Luke go down the road he did, he needed that push to realize that he was becoming someone he wasn't.

I like that BP were best friends and wouldnt want it to change. i think it makes sense that they drifted apart a little. Me and my ex best friend were a lot like them, so i understood it.

I just think that BL should have been a fling and ended after their date. Lucas could have said he wasnt ready to move on. Then Peyton shouldn't have made that confession in 109 and instead LP just agree to be friends for a bit. Then they still could have hooked up in 112, but it wouldnt have been cheating. Brooke still would have been upset but it wouldnt have been that bad. JMO.

Lucas/Nikki should have hooked up or kissed but not had sex. That would have been better.

I think BP being best friends in S1 was an mistake, but in the later seasons it was fine. Eh, while I would have loved BL to be an little fling, it would have been really hard to create drama there because I don't really see how Brooke would have any reason to be upset with Peyton when BL only drunkenly made out. I think the best option would have been BL breaking up before the cheating would have been the best move imo.

They could've even simply prolonged Peyton realizing/giving into her feelings for Lucas after 1x07. There were plenty of ways they could've kept up the tension with LP without pushing him toward other girls. Maybe he would've backed off for a while but they could've slowly started being friends before anything else happening. Of course, what would have kept them apart as a couple once she got to the same place he was?

They could have still done that regardless really and keeping Lucas single during that time would have made it difficult to keep them apart once she admitted those feelings.

Plus I wouldn't have wanted for them to get together that early in the show either.

Yeah same here so something would've still had to happen to keep them apart for a while.

Yeah, that's why I think Lucas did need to start someone for an little bit so that could keep them apart for an bit.

Well i think if BL had kissed/hooked up then yeah, brooke would have had a reason to be upset with p for almost sleeping with Lucas and sneaking around behind her back, not just because peyton knew brooke liked him but because peyton lied about it (HYPOTHETICALLY).

Obviously peyton liked lucas first and WE know that, but I'm just saying it would have been a valid storyline. Brooke was a dummy anyways so it wouldnt be a stretch she would have overreacted to that, do you know what i mean?
