if I can give my opinion, I think unfortunately it is the divorce of chad and Sophia that precipitated the end of brucas. It is obvious that the writers have had to adapt to the situation.It is certainly why certain scenes from season 4 no longer had any meaning compared to what had happened before! If I'm not mistaken, sophia asked for the divorce between the end of season 2 and the beginning of season 3 ... that corresponds to the gradual end of Brucas. While throughout season 2, Lucas was falling in love with Brooke, so that afterwards they get back together in season 3. And it is from that I think that the writers decided to put Peython back in the triangle for bringing a final break ... it should not have been easy for the actors to play a couple while they were going to divorce ... I really think that if Chad and Sophia had stayed together, Brucas would have been the endgame . __________________

I think this is the article where we heard of it: ‘One Tree Hill’ Star Hilarie Burton Reveals Lucas Was Originally Supposed To End Up With Brooke (Interview) I have the same opinion.  It was not easy for them to do scenes together, but they never showed it. Their chemistry was AMAZING and I was just more in love with them in S3. So sad that the writers had to end it probably because of C/S. |
