I lol'd at the Hunter and Frankie exchange. Oh God. PLOT-TWIST. Wasn't expecting it/it makes me think of smut fics with incest, though.

Man, what if Hunter falls for a girl based on her photo from that OomphChat exchange? But he doesn't know who she is and already liked her prior to the photo thing?

Also lol'd at Frankie getting dragged into this by giving Zoe the idea with her rant about her mother's rules with her and her brothers. Nice tie-in. I feel bad for Frankie.

I think this is shaping up to be a really good season so far. The Drecky storyline doesn't really deserve much attention from me I guess. I'm sure it'll be over before we know it. At least, I hope so. And holy crap do I feel bad for Maya. If anyone thought she deserved to be hated for being meddlesome, hopefully this episode proved they're wrong. I feel the same way as Maya for very similar reasons, and I can't help but feel terrified for other people when they're miserable or going through a hard time.

The Frankie plot is the best one this season so far and I'm happy she can hold her ground with an A-plot. The facts that she has so many parental restrictions just exemplifies her possibility of having an eating disorder plot in the future. Not to mention her body image problems from the previous season.

EDIT: Whoops, forgot: Cue the fan theories that Grace is gay. So far, there's really nothing that can prove that. She just seems very... INTJ, and most people that I know with that type of personality tend not to let their affection show too much. She isn't like the other alternachicks before her (Ellie, Jane) at that she's much more melancholic. So I really don't know where these theories are coming from. But they're now going to be perpetuated even further since she made a comment about Tiny's homophobic joke. Hmm.

The Drew/Becky storyline does serve the purpose of providing a Degrassi subplot by which all of the worst subplots in Degrassi's history can be defended with a "It could be worse...it could be Drew/Becky." This show has overcome some terrible storylines but at this point this is becoming a show killer for me.

There is something so clueless in this storyline. It really does seem the show writers said lets put cute boy with cute girl and that will fool everyone. It shows a jaw-dropping lack of respect for the audience.

^^^"...It could be Owen/Anya."

I don't get what you mean by 'clueless' in terms of Becky and Drew. I thought you meant the child porno money grab plot with Zoe and Frankie (and the cheer squad), not Drew and Becky.
I don't like Drew/Becky. I still didn't understand what I was reading whenever I read your comment.
Nah, the rape storyline with HJ (followed by the rape of Tristan) was the killer for me. I still watch this - against all odds.

I thought the Tristan rape storyline was really well executed. I'm just not happy about the fanbase's response to it. Of course it's a big deal, a man in authority took advantage of him and sexually abused him. It wasn't an "innocent relationship." But so many people didn't see it that way. I agree with the point about Holly J though. It was rape. Even though she didn't see it that way, it still was. But the fanbase, once again, missed the point.

I felt the same way about when Jenna smacked KC with the guitar.

To stay on topic, I'm sure a lot of people don't see this Frankie storyline as being significant. But they're distributing child pornography. If the school gets ahold of it... someone's in deep trouble. Probably Zoe. And every single girl that took a picture. And every single boy (or girl I guess) that looked at one, probably screenshotted one and sent it off to their friends. And Grace probably, too.

If that nude pics plot is ever found out by TPTB then it's buy buy cheer team, and everyone involved (including Grace) should be suspended, and in Zoe's case possibly expelled. Somehow, I'm guessing it won't come to that.

But, perhaps Snake and company might address why there's a 10th grader in charge of the Power Cheer team...

Oops. I took the 'killer' remark as something that made you upset or uncomfortable (like something that'd make a viewer swear off the show forever). I'm sorry. I meant that Owen/Anya and the HJ situation and Tristan's situation were uncomfortable for me. They were well-written for what they were (except for the thing with HJ...wtf), but the content was too much/people didn't see it for what it was. UGH, I hated the Jenna thing. I don't even stan KC, but goddamn that scene pissed me off so much.

I liked how Frankie (?) asked about what if someone screenshots the images. I forgot the answer she got. Grace is gonna be like some sort of informant. I don't buy her being okay with Zoe doing this especially after what happened (no matter how determined Zoe is).

Hollingsworth's family is so messed-up. You have the mom sending her nudes to a high schooler (Drew), her daughter sending nudes to a random guy/girl online, the husband cheating on the wife, the oldest son getting beaten by his own father, the youngest son having virtual sex in a chatroom + possibly seeing his own twin sister's boobs. If ever a family needed therapy on this damn show, it'd be The Hollingsworth clan. Ain't nobody coming out of that unscathed.

Side-note: what the hell was so wrong about Frankie's cocktail dress? Is this a side-effect of the wife still fuming over being cheated on by her scumbag husband? I understand the thing about no sex (she's 14), but she really got mad about her dress for no reason at all. I thought the dress was nice.

You're talking to two different people here :p I didn't say "killer" at all. But I completely understand.

I genuinely enjoyed this episode.

The lone glaring misstep was the caricature of a date Becky had. There was zero dimension to the character.

Despite it's complications I think Becky sees a certain safety net in being with Drew and I don't really think she's realistically thought things through. But I could at least understand why she went back to Drew.

I though it was a little misplaced that Drew would talk about how complicated things are (which don't get me wrong, it's a unique situation) between him and Clare were when we saw them laughing and functioning together in the beginning of the episode.

Finally some in your face context to Maya's behavior. I hope this ends the thought that Maya is just a meddling little whatever. Her actions are rooted in how she was so effected by Cam's death.

There was added poignancy when we got to have both her teacher and mother directly giving council and being witness to her struggles.

I think they are handling the whole feminist ideas with great complexity while also utilizing the honest and real emotions a teenage girl has. Again, this is where having that dynamic explored between the child and the parent really drove things home.

I hope we have more of the student-teacher, parent-child dynamic explored this season.

This episode really felt like a good ol TNG episode.

Frankie plot - Loved it! This is the stuff that makes Degrassi so good and realistic. I'm not sure if regular high school girls could pull this off as shown here, but it's a classic case of "Sounds like an amazing idea!" When really it's terrible, but they are all young and dumb and think they know everything. It amazes me that everyone thought it was a good idea expect Frankie. I can't wait to see how this unfolds because this is a serious issue and if and when they get caught, the concequences could be severe. I also enjoyed Frankies side plot of her just wishing she would be treated and looked at as older. The plot twist of her BROTHER being the one who asked for her boobs... wow! Also, maybe it was just me but they were told to know take photos behind revealing backrounds... so why did she feel safe taking it in her own bedroom? Once again, young little girl who doesn't think and this is what makes this plot so great!

Becky plot - What I really liked about this plot was the fact that Becky herself realized how much she has changed since starting Degrassi. I found it very amusing that she didn't like that guy because he was so much like the old her and she has come to terms with the fact that she never really liked herself to begin with, but now she's not sure who she is anymore.

Maya plot - I just really don't care. I know I should, but I don't. Miles was so in the right when she yelled to her that it was her problem if she's going to worry about him all the time. I know what she went through with Cam, but having a nightmare about Miles jumping in class, seriously? She's making herself mentally and physically ill and "That is your problem!" btw, her actress his amazing with dramatic scenes expect for crying, she's never pulled that off the best and this episode I found hard to watch because it almost appeared as she she was smiling or laughing.

A few side notes: It really rubbed me the wrong way watching Zig and Tiny be homophobic. From day one, Zig has been shown to be pretty open to all walks of live, never really having much negective things to say, but since he has beef with Miles "Let's make fun of that fag!" and it's this double standard in life that pisses me off. Guys who are fine with lesbians because it's hot, but hate gay guys because it's gross. You're OK with Tristan because you grew up with him and are friends, but **** Miles I hope he burns in hell for that sin.

Also, I'm not liking how others are saying Tristan as raped. Yes, he was indeed taken advantage of, but that was it. "You can't rape the willing" and even though manipulation came into play, Tristn was still willing. Rape is a serious matter and the word should nto be used lightly. It's just like when certain girls get rejected by a guy and later says he "raped" her even though she fully consented in the first place. So, if Tris came forward and said "I was manipulated and taken advantage of sexually" I would agree with that, but so help me god if he walks around saying he was raped. Paige was raped. Darcy was (date) raped, even HJ was raped because she wasn't fully consenting, Tristan on the other hand WAS. Even under a mans manipulation, he put himself in the situation, let his guard down, and consented to have sex. Just because it was later found out not to be love doesn't make it rape. Doesn't make it right either, but to say Tristan was raped is where I draw the line.

^Tristan may have been willing and while Tristan isn't an adolescent but like 15/16, that's still a chasm in terms of maturity with someone in their late 20s. It's gross to watch those episodes, he was so easily preyed on.

I'll type my thoughts later, running late for work.

I saw some screencaps on Tumblr and it's confirmed that Frankie sent her nudes to her own brother. Frankie's phone and Hunter's phone have the same number: DN3003.
Frankie's code must be DN3003. Hunter's phone is using #oomfCHAT and says he has an incoming photo from DN3003.

Gotta love Triles — Look what i found

Images are too big to show here.

Wow...uh, lol. I was joking whenever I thought that Hunter got her photos, damn. That's amazing. Well, thank God Frankie's nudes didn't go outside of her family or else she'd probably be in danger. Gotta look on the bright side.
