CSI RECAP
Pre- Credits: In the desert, a young guy is running as if being chased. He's shirtless and...oh my god he's not wearing pants either. Butt shot alert! Grissom and Warrick are at his nude, decomposing body. They figure he had been chased to death.

After Credits: Milo got second billing. He deserved first but... hey, where is the actress that got top billing now I ask
Now with the corpse, Grissom tells Warrick to "benihana" the maggots. In other words- chop 'em up.
Benihana is a chain of Chinese style restaurants famous for chefs chopping up food in front of you and stir-frying it. Yummers! LOL
They can tell from the maggots found on the body what the man had digested.
Okay, down goes my BBQ popcorn.

Warrick finds out that the maggots reveal that the body of 'John Doe' had jimsonweed in his system, meaning the man had been on drugs.

In comes our Milo as Bobby Taylor He's filed a missing persons report after being concerned about his best friend Eric. He now sits with Grissom in his office. Bobby keeps rubbing his arm.
He works at 'Voosh's fireworks' and Eric worked at 'Element & Sound', a music store.
Bobby is rubbing his arm some more.
They had both gone to a party out near Red Rock. He explains that they didn't do any drugs and that he hasn't seen Eric since the party.
Bobby continues to itch his arm.
Grissom informs Bobby of the body they found that match Eric's description. They ask Bobby to identify him. He does, and breaks down over Eric's body. Warrick enters and takes Grissom aside. He tells Grissom that jimsonweed was found in the maggots blood.

Back in Grissom's office, Bobby explains that the guy that sold them the jimsonweed told them it was natural and wasn't a drug.
Jimson what? ...'WEED'... Hello???
He reveals that they both took the j-weed and that it's a tea that you drink. Warrick finds the rave stamp on Bobby and believes they can trace the next rave party through it's DJ.

Later, Warrick enters Grissom's office and tells Grissom that the products found in Eric's mouth and nose from the swab sample taken were "mentholated nose spray" (he must have had a cold), "patchouli" (a substance burned at music stores where Eric worked), and "aluminum". They're puzzled by the aluminum.

Bobby is now with them at a rave party to find the dealer. Bobby sees the man and races towards him screaming. Bobby starts to punch him but Grissom pulls him off. As Grissom grabbed Bobby's arm, Bobby reacted with pain. They search the dealers car and find seeds on the floor and take them as samples.

Now we're up close and personal inside Eric's lower intestinal track finding jimsonweed seeds. The seeds' toxicity prove to be too low to have killed him and because they're no pods, they can't match them to the seeds in the dealers' car. The dealer goes free and shows off his IQ on his shirt- '00'

Grissom finally asks Bobby- what the freek is up with your damn arm?!! Bobby tells him that it's infected from a spider bite. Grissom asks Peter Parker to show him the bite mark, then tells Bobby- it ain't no spider bite.

Warrick finds out from tests that the aluminum found in Eric's mouth came from fireworks. Bobby works at Voosh's fireworks. Grissom asks for molds of Eric's teeth and Bobby's bite mark.
Popping in: Milo wears the coolest watches!

Bobby is now with his lawyer as Grissom and Warrick reveal the facts to him:
That night, Eric and Bobby injested the seeds of j-weed, the most toxic part. They suffered from photophobia, a fear of lights. They both began to hallucinate. Scared, they ran into the desert. Eric's dose shot his temperature up so he stripped naked and gave us a pre-credit butt shot.

Bobby is now clearly upset and stunned. He can't remember any of this.

They believe that Bobby was suffering from auditory hallucinations. We now flashback again to see Bobby run after Eric screaming at him to shut up. He then wrestles him to the ground and covers Eric's mouth to silence him.

Again, Bobby can't remember any of this happening. His lawyer says that none of this is based on fact, but Grissom tells her that it is. He reveals the evidence that proves Bobby suffocated Eric. The aluminum found in Eric's mouth matches the fireworks aluminum found on Bobby's hands and arms from where he works.
Bobby sits in shock.
They then put the molds of Eric's mouth and Bobby's bite mark together- they match.
A tear rolls down Bobby's face.
Popping in: Milo shows again what he does incredibly well- dramatic/emotional scenes! I love watching Milo's acting. It's so subtle and simple, natural and real.
The lawyer says that they'll plead diminished capacity. Grissom says he hopes they win.
Bobby doesn't care.

Bobby- "You don't understand. I don't care what happens to me- I killed my best friend."

Bobby is handcuffed and taken away by the police for booking.

L&O: SVU RECAP
10 years ago, Mike Baxter was acused and sentenced for raping his girlfriends son, Lee, and has now escaped prison to kidnap his acuser and force him to recant his story.
After credits:
"with Milo Ventimiglia as Lee Healy"
Um, for the show to present Milo's name like that- it means Milo's special... but we already knew that!
The US Marshall's Office has asked the SVU for their help. Detective Olivia Benson is teamed with Marshall Andy Eckerson, with whom she once had a relationship with. They find Baxter's old girlfriend, Carin, at her work. They ask to talk with her in private because a young man is beside her, but she tells them it's alright- he's her nephew Jeremy. She tells them that Lee is now living with his girlfriend and gives them his address. Then she panics. She was pregnant with Baxter's child when he went to prison and wonders if he might try and take their son. They rush to find her son Danny, and he's fine.
Apartment of Lee Healy
114 West 37th Street
Tuesday, November 18

Andy and Olivia visit Lee to tell him about Baxter's escape. Lee doesn't seem to want to relocate, but does stress that it still bothers him about what Baxter did to him 10 years ago. Lee reveals that he still keeps in touch with Baxter's mother, Sheila, and that she's dying of cancer.
At headquaters, Milo's smiling face is on the wall with everyone else involved with the case. Andy continues to annoy me with his monotone voice (this ain't Dragnet!) as they get told that Lee is now missing. Andy and Olivia manage to get Sheila to reveal that she paid a guard off to help her son escape. She also tells them where her son is.
Olivia finds Lee at a motel in room #612. Backup is called in as she enters the room. Lee is bound on the floor and with duct tape over his mouth. He motions to her that he's alone. Olivia rips off the duct tape so fast that I wait for Milo to scream-"OOOOW!" and smack her... but he remains the professional that he is.
They leave, but Baxter is waiting for them and takes them both hostage.
Now back in the motel room, Baxter tells Olivia that he doesn't want to hurt Lee, he just wants to talk to him. Olivia remains calm.
Dragnet Andy on the other hand is a little trigger happy. He grinds his teeth and continues to tell the snipers to shoot, shoot, ...shoot!"
Baxter wants to see his son Danny. Olivia tells Baxter that is mother, Sheila, has seen Danny, but Baxter wont believe her because Sheila never told him. Lee, who continues expressing his anger about the past, stresses that it's because Sheila knows Baxter's guilty.
Popping in: Milo is amazing!!!!!!!!! His acting here is his best work yet IMHO
Olivia stresses that Sheila only helped him escape prison so that she could see him before she dies.
Baxter doesn't like that answer.
Olivia tries to calm him down.
Lee helps too, in his own little way-
Lee- "You sick Bastard! You ruined my life!"
Um, Lee, he's got a gun... let's try and take it down a notch
Baxter continues to proclaim his innocence.
They arrange for Baxter to talk to his son Danny on the phone. Carin gets on and tells Baxter to let Lee go. Baxter again pleads that he never touched Lee 10 years ago.
Lee- "You raped me, and I hope you burn in hell!"
Popping in: ...and the Emmy goes to...
A sniper shoots through the window and strikes Baxter through near his chest. He survives and is taken to the hospital.
Sheila arrives at the hospital to see her son. She tells Olivia that she never believed Lee's story.
Olivia questions Lee about what happened when he was a child. She reveals that the lab had made a mistake with the DNA from the case 10 years ago and they had it retested. It now matches- his cousin Jeremy. Lee finally reveals the truth- that Jeremy molested him and told him to never tell. Lee had lied about Baxter because he was afraid, and because he had felt at the time that Baxter was taking his mother away from him. Jeremy is hauled away by the police as it finally hits me- the actor playing Jeremy was in the movie 'U-571'. Baxter is told that Carin is on her way up with their son Danny- to see his father for the first time.

Alix Kermes interview
by Kelly
October 2003

Alix Kermes played 'Lily' in the 'Gilmore Girls' season three episode 'Here Comes the Son' and was going to be a regular cast member in what was to be the Jess spinoff series 'Windward Circle'. Alix was nice enough to sit down and answer some questions for us regarding working on the show, her acting, and some of her favorite things.

Kelly- Hi Alix, and thanks for doing this

Alix-No problem!

Kelly- Were you a fan of 'Gilmore Girls' prior to being on the series?

Alix- I had never watched it before, but now I watch it all the time!

Kelly- Explain the audition process that you went through to get the part of Lily. Who did you meet, how many auditions did you have, were any of the cast involved, etc...

Alix- There were 5 auditions. One regular, two producer level, one studio level and one network level audition. I only saw girls trying out for the same part until studio and network level and then there were the people for a few other roles there too. Daniel Palladino was there from the 2nd audition on. At each level, there were more people watching me audition.

Kelly- How did you find out that you got the part?

Alix- They called my mom and me right after the network audition. We started jumping up and down and crying!

Kelly- Were you given any advice from creator Amy Sherman-Palladino on how to play Lily?

Alix- No. She directed the actual episode and that was the first time I really talked with her about my character.

Kelly- Explain your typical day on the set of 'Gilmore Girls'.

Alix- The time I had to be there depended on the day. I always went to the school trailer first. I did three normal hours of school and banked one hour on three days so that I didn't have to do school on the main day of shooting for my scenes. Then I'd get into wardrobe and go to hair and makeup. Then take a shuttle to the set for rehearsal. Then go back to my trailer. Then shuttle back to the set when they were ready to actually shoot. The house where we shot was very small so there wasn't a lot of room to stand around because of the crew and actors.

Kelly- How did you occupy your free time on the set during the lengthy waits between takes?

Alix- Mostly school. I also played games with my teacher and played the Guess Who game with Rob Estes once while waiting. But I got a little upset at him because he didn't play it right. I met some kids who were extras in the episode and sat with them at lunch. My agents also came and had lunch with me one day.

Kelly- What was it like working with Milo Ventimiglia, Rob Estes, and Sherilyn Fenn?

Alix- They were all cool. Milo was so cute and nice. Rob was VERY funny and fun to hang out with. Sherilyn was really cool and nice too. I sat with her while she had her hair and makeup done. They treated me like a member of the family. Rob probably made me laugh the most.

Kelly- Was there much time for you to bond with them prior to filming?

Alix- Not really. But they were so nice, that it didn't take much time to like them.

Kelly- Describe the character of 'Lily' for us. Are you like her in any way?

Alix- She likes to read A LOT. She dresses wacky and likes to read in unusual places. I wear glasses to read, like her. Otherwise, we're not that much alike. I like to dress in matching clothes.

Kelly- Did you help in creating the look that Lily had (necklace, glasses, etc..) and how did that look help you in your performance?

Alix- The wardrobe ladies were really cool and picked out my clothes. They had great stuff to choose from. I could have tried on clothes all day there. If something didn't fit, they just sewed it so that it would.

Kelly- What books were you actually reading in the Lily scenes in 'Here Comes the Son'?

Alix- One was Through the Looking Glass. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I can't remember what the other one was.

Kelly- Do you really like pineapple on your pizza?

Alix- No! Yuk! I ate a subway sandwich between takes. < p>Kelly- Do you find it better filming on location (as you did in 'Here Comes the Son') or is it better in a soundstage?

Alix- I like on location a lot. The beach was a cool place to be near when filming. I've filmed a commercial on a soundstage. It's like a big shed.

Kelly- Were you told what would have happened to the character 'Lily' in future episodes of the spinoff? If not, then what would you have liked to have seen done with the character?

Alix- I got to audition the last two times with another script where Lily and Jess argued about whether George Washington and Alice in Wonderland was real. It was a funny scene. I wish I could have done it. Other than that, I don't know what Lily would have done.

Kelly- What was the best part of working on 'Gilmore Girls'?

Alix- Everything. I loved working on a tv show. I like getting to see the show fast not like movies that take so long to get to see. The people were great. I hope to get to work with some of them again someday.

Kelly- What made you interested in working in the industry? How did you start?

Alix-I always liked having my picture taken, so my mom sent my picture to talent agencies when I was two. I modeled since I was two and had my first acting audition for the movie "Here On Earth" when I was five.

Kelly- What do you like the best about modelling?

Alix- It's easy. No lines to memorize.

Kelly- Expl ain how you got an agent to begin acting. Was that hard to do?

Alix- My mom sent my pictures in. I got more agents and work as I got older. I got my agent in LA in 2001. Rachel Leigh Cook's manager referred me to them.

Kelly- How do you choose which roles to audition for?

Alix- I don't get to choose. They just call and tell me what auditions I have.

Kelly- Tell us about some of your past work in the industry, including your very first job.

Alix- My first job was a commercial for Once Upon A Child stores. I've worked for Campbells Soup, Hyundai, Groovy Girls dolls, Pillsbury, did a Halloween product cover and a bunch more.

Kelly- What kind of characters have you played in the past? Do you have a favorite?

Alix- I've played tomboys. I usually have played smart kids. One student movie was with a fake monster that was put in after filming.

Kelly- Do you find that the scripts you read accurately portray girls your age?

Alix- Sometimes. Sometimes they use words I wouldn't normally use. A lot of times I audition for girls younger than me.

Kelly- Are you comfortable watching yourself on TV?

Alix-Yeah, that's the best part!

Kelly- Is it hard to balance school with acting at the same time?

Alix- No, school is easy. Acting is just one thing I do.

Kelly- What is your favorite subject in school?

Alix- Art

Kelly- Did your acting coach 'Marnie Cooper' remain with you on the set during the filming of 'Gilmore Girls'.

Alix- She just came to visit one day. She didn't stay. She helps me with all my auditions.

Kelly- Do you have a specific routine to memorize your lines?

Alix- Just practice.

Kelly- What do you draw from to perform emotional scenes, like crying?

Alix- I learned to make myself cry this summer. I think of someone putting mascara on me.

Kelly- What are the good and the bad aspects of being a child actor?

Alix- It's a lot of fun. It's sad when you don't get the part.

Kelly- How does your busy work schedule affect your family? Are they able to be with you a lot?

Alix- My mom goes with me everywhere. My brother and sister come to LA in the summers.

Kelly- What advice would you give to someone your age that wants to be an actor?

Alix-Try to get all the experience you can. Try theatre. It's a lot of fun. Do student films.

Kelly- What is your dream role?

Being one of them, I'll second that, Kelly

Just saw little clips here and there when mv.net was up and running, and Milo was terrific in them, but you kind of lose the feel for his overall performance, you know? So, the DVD set would be awesome!

From zap2it.com:

Milo Ventimiglia: Neither Bad Nor a Boy
(Tuesday, October 14)
By Kate O'Hare

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - "My manager makes fun of me," says Milo Ventimiglia. "He's like, 'Since you started in the business, you've aged eight years, but on television, you've only aged two or three.' It's a frustrating thing.
"It's hard when you're trying to present yourself as a man, a businessman, and people are looking at you, patting you on the head like, 'Oh, what a cute little 18-year-old.' 'No, I'm 26. Let's talk business.'"

Ventimiglia is currently in the middle of a three-episode stint on Fox's high-school drama "Boston Public," which began on Friday, Sept. 26, and continues on Oct. 17th and 24th. He plays Jake Provesserio, a 23-year-old narcotics officer posing as a student, who winds up catching the eyes of both a student (Lyndsy Fonseca) and teacher Carmen Torres (new series regular Natalia Baron).

"I don't think he causes as much trouble as everyone's been talking about," Ventimiglia says. "I've seen a couple of articles just randomly about my being on the show, saying, 'This bad boy gets the chicks.' I'm like, 'What?'
"There's a story with the teenage girl, Jenn, played by Lyndsy Fonseca, I'm hanging out with her. Then there's the teacher, Carmen, he's attracted to her. He's kind of back and forth. At the same time, he's a kid, so what can you really say about that?"

With Ventimiglia's teen-heartthrob status well established during his stint as the moody Jess Mariano on The WB Network's "Gilmore Girls," Baron may find herself the envy of many teen girls -- but she doesn't see it that way.

"Well, I think he's the envy of many young boys," Baron says, taking a break on the set in a sleek red top and black slacks with red embroidery. "That's my take on the situation. But he's very sweet. He's a very nice guy. It certainly made it easier that he's been around for a while, and this is my first acting job."

"Natalia was great to work with," Ventimiglia says, "very professional, very prepared. She was like, 'This is my first job.' I was like, 'What?' She was asking all these questions about the camera, this and that. I felt like the old Jedi Master."

As for the other girl in Jake's life, Ventimiglia says, "Lyndsy really is 16 years old, and I'm 26. Here I am in a scene where she's two inches away from me. You're in character and all that, but at the same time, you're going, 'Oh, my God!' It's a strange business."

Although he's still in a high-school setting, Ventimiglia's stint on "Boston Public," produced by 20th Century Fox, offers the actor a fresh perspective. After his "Gilmore Girls" spin-off failed to materialize on The WB, Ventimiglia is now a free agent.

"Just a change of scenery," Ventimiglia says. "I've been at Warner Bros. for several years. This is the first time in six years, seven years, that I haven't had a contract."

He even sees playing yet another "bad boy" -- he prefers the term "troubled teen" -- as a challenge. "That is the opportunity for the actor to take something that's so boxed into one area and make it larger than life, give it more of a range. I'm all for playing the bad kid, but not everybody is completely evil. When there are the moments of vulnerability with a character, that's the fun stuff.

"On 'Gilmore' for two years, I was such a punk, saying all these sardonic, wry, very humorous things, but it was at the expense of other characters. It wasn't until the last episode where this kid broke down -- and it wasn't even that huge of a breakdown -- but it was so good to finally do that."

A native of Orange, Calif., Ventimiglia does have some issues with the portrayal of his native Orange County in Fox's summer teen-drama hit "The O.C.," which films at the same studios in Manhattan Beach, Calif., as "Boston Public."

"I can't watch a show that openly rips on where I come from and over-dramatizes it," he says. "I can't get into it. At the same time, there's my personal conflict as well, being friends with Adam [series star Adam Brody], and having met Josh [series creator Josh Schwartz], who is very nice. I've met this kid, [series star] Ben McKenzie, and I want the show to do well -- I just don't know how much I can watch it.

"Adam came by the set two weeks ago. I hadn't seen him in a long time. Man, you should have seen the girls swoon, all over. Lyndsy, after Adam left, was like, 'You didn't tell me he was coming!' She was smiling all day, little dance steps. I'm like, 'Wow, everything tastes a little better today, doesn't it?'"

In his campaign to leave both "bad boys" and high school behind, Ventimiglia wants Hollywood to know that he's more than willing to put on grownup clothes. "God, I'd love to have a suit and tie. My friends that wear suits to work every day -- jealous. I could play a politician, play a doctor, who knows? Definitely, for my own personal sanity, that needs to come soon."

He has also stepped behind the camera, directing some spots for The WB's "Images" ad campaign, which feature the network's stars, including "Angel" lead David Boreanaz.

"Such a nice guy," Ventimiglia says. "He was on my set, had a bunch of ideas, really nice, had his son with him. It was cool. I went through 24 actors: David Boreanaz, Tom Welling, Reba, Kristin Kreuk, Jamie Kennedy.

"It was cool being on the other side, bumping into actors I knew from different shows. They're like, 'Are you on this set next after me?' And I'm like, 'No, actually, you're on my set.' People were pretty surprised. It was a good experience."

You know, Amy likes to throw in so many of those little things for the actors and people involved in the show it's hard to tell sometimes she's more obvious with it than others. Like when Michel was upset because Paris said he was Canadian since Yanic is. I like it when she does it though!

From the Futon critic:

HEROES (NBC) - Milo Ventimiglia ("The Bedford Diaries") is the latest addition to the ensemble drama pilot, about a group of regular people who discover that they possess superpowers. He'll join the previously cast Greg Grunberg, Ali Larter, Masi Oka, Santiago Cabrera, Tawny Cypress, Hayden Panetierre and Sendhil Ramamurthy in the NBC Universal Television-based project, which comes from creator Tim Kring. While not specified, it's believed Ventimiglia's involvement is in second position to the potential second season of the yet-to-debut "Bedford." Dave Semel is directing the two-hour pilot from a script by Kring.

Milo-Heroes/Ethan thread! #1

If this thread has already been started let me know and I'll delete it but I looked and couldn't find one so.........

Well it looks like Bedford Diaries won't be picked up by the new network CW, because of the low ratings. So I'm thinking it is safe to assume that milo will take on the role of Ethan in heroes!

Ausiello: Considering that Milo Ventimiglia just joined the ensemble cast of Heroes, NBC's pilot about normal folks who possess superpowers, I think it's safe to say Bedford is dead. Heroes, BTW, is the same project that Greg Grunberg is attached to. In other words, I think I'm ready to proclaim this my new favorite show of the 2006-07 season!

Heroes
A Lost-like ensemble drama about ordinary people who discover they have extraordinary powers, Heroes is getting early raves. The cast includes Greg Grunberg (Alias), Milo Ventimiglia (Gilmore Girls), Adrian Pasdar (Profit), Ali Larter (Final Destination 2) and Hayden Panettiere (Commander in Chief). One competitor who read the script says, "I cannot imagine this show not being picked up by NBC." TVguide.com

Milo talked about heroes in an interview with TV guide:

TVGuide.com: You're also attached to the fall NBC pilot Heroes, which sounds fun and interesting.
Ventimiglia: That's a second position. I got attracted to that by David Semel, who was an executive producer on American Dreams. They were having a hard time casting this role of Ethan....

TVGuide.com: Is he the junkie-superhero whose ability is to paint images from the future?
Ventimiglia: No, that's Isaac. Ethan's the guy who thinks that he can fly but he actually has a bit of clairvoyance and can tell other people what their powers are, while it seems like he has none of his own.

I think they changed his name to Peter instead of Ethan. I saw that on a site listing the new pilots but, I don't recall which one.

The name change is curious. They changed it from Nathan Campbell to Peter Petrelli, and it must be because of the Italian-looking Milo. I like Ethan better too.
