Master storytellers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz ("Lost," "Tron: Legacy") invite everyone to Storybrooke, Maine, a small town that probably won't show up on one's GPS, but it's a place where magic is coming!

To ensure that no one in fairytale land – especially Snow White – had any more "happily ever afters," Evil Queen Regina cast a curse which trapped the fairytale characters, frozen in time, and brought them into our modern world. Although still alive, they had no knowledge of their former selves and were sleepwalking through life – ageless -- for 28 years, until a savior arrived in the form of Emma Swan. Unbeknownst to Emma, she was the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, who had whisked her out of fairytale land and into our world as an infant to save her from the curse. Abandoned as a baby, Emma's life was anything but magical; her last job was as a bail bondsperson, but she mostly drifted without much of a life plan. When her 10-year-old son, Henry -- whom she had given up for adoption years earlier -- appeared on her doorstep with a book of fairytales and a wild story about how Emma was the progeny of fairytale characters trapped in a town called Storybrooke, she thought he was crazy. But curiosity got the better of her, and when she brought Henry back to the town – where Regina, ever the control freak, had made herself mayor and was also Henry's adoptive mother -- Emma soon discovered that Storybrooke was more than it seemed. Over time she came to believe the stories were true, began to see cracks in the curse, and was finally able to break it.

Reality and myth were merged as the fairytale characters began awakening, once the curse was lifted, and remembered who they were. But to their dismay they were not transported back to fairytale land. And to make matters worse, Rumplestiltskin – aka Mr. Gold – in an effort to gain the upper hand in his power struggle with Regina, introduced magic into the town. In fairytales magic has its place, but in our world it can have unfathomable consequences. Now the fairytale characters must contend with magic in their quest to find a way home, as new fairytale characters are revealed, old acquaintances are revisited, and some we had come to believe could be trusted will turn against their own kind.

"Once Upon a Time" stars Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White/Mary Margaret, Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, Lana Parrilla as Evil Queen/Regina, Josh Dallas as Prince Charming/David, Emilie de Ravin as Belle, Jared S. Gilmore as Henry Mills, Meghan Ory as Red Riding Hood/Ruby and Robert Carlyle as Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold.

SEASON 3 SPOILERS
  • Dina: I am going through Once Upon a Time withdrawals. Got any scoop on what to expect?
A trip to a new land…possibly a permanent one! "They sort of set up that we are maybe heading to another land. They've teased that at the end of season two," Jennifer Morrison teases of season three. "I will be interested to see how we are all impacted by that new land. I think whenever we're in a place where everyone's relationships are impacted by their environment and it heightens the stakes for everyone, it becomes very interesting drama." Source
  • Question: Any intel on Once Upon a Time‘s casting of Peter Pan? —George
Ausiello: The role of Peter Pan will be played by… a dude! “I can confirm that it will be a male playing the part,” exec producer Adam Horowitz tells TVLine. Beyond that, “Anything to do with that casting we don’t want to talk about, because that would be a big spoiler. Our approach to Peter Pan is one we’re super-excited about. Since Season 1, the Peter Pan mythology was something we wanted to do, but we couldn’t because of the rights issues. Once they were dealt with, we were able to finally go to town and open that world up. We started with Captain Hook, and we knew we wanted to build to what we’re about to do in Season 3.” Source
  • What’s going to happen to Storybrooke on Once Upon a Time? —Lauren
NATALIE: Just because most of the ABC’s fairy-tale drama’s main characters went through a portal to Neverland does not mean we won’t be seeing Storybrooke next season. In fact, Emilie de Ravin, whose Belle has been left in charge of the town, confirms that she’ll continue to be a series regular in Season 3. The Lost alum also notes that even though Belle’s memories are allintact, it doesn’t mean she’ll write Mr. Gold off for his actions while she was Lacey. “She was going along with it though, so therefore you can’t blame him if you’re the one saying, ‘Kick that guy’s a—,” she says, noting that Belle will be devastated about his absence when the show returns. “But also she’ll gain her strength back and she’ll have to if she’s going to protect an entire town.” Source

TFTNT! Great timing too to start fresh.

Maybe we should get rid of all the season 2 spoilers in the master post since they no longer matter? This thread will probably last us through June.

Yeah, it seems like the right time to start anew for spoilers.

Adam and Eddy just did a new interview with Entertainment Weekly that contains some information about S3 that I think ought to make anyone who was upset about the way the series was structured this year happy. Here's the relevant info (followed by a link to the full article).

Quote:
HOROWITZ: At the end of season 2, we’ve placed our core group in a very difficult situation. Some of them are on the boat; some of them are behind in Storybrooke; some of them are in another land. So the question is, how do we best continue telling their stories? Sometimes that will require flashbacks; sometimes it won’t. We want to continue to expand the storytelling modality of the show, like we did in season 2, where we were able to do things like flash back to Emma for the first time, or see time during the curse.

KITSIS: We are not going to be doing episodes next season that have five different worlds in them. We definitely plan not to overly confuse or complicate the show. It’s about simplifying.

It definitely feels that way with the way things are going in the finale.

Hi, I'm new to this board

Interesting choice of words. While the interviewer stated that Neal, Aurora, Mulan and Philip are in the Enchanted Forest, Horowitz didn't confirm it. Also said "some are on a boat" not in Neverland, so the "different land" could be the island.
I think Neal & co are in Neverland, probably Philip's soul was trapped there.

Thanks for posting! How awesome of them to send us off with one last bout of hints.

I liked Eddy's comment about simplifying. In the beginning of this season we had episodes that took place in present-day FTL and Storybrooke with FTL flashbacks which was really confusing especially for a family show. Confusing episodes like that don't exactly attract new viewers and I'm sure that didn't please the network. Sounds like they aren't going to go that route next season.

Personally I think they're going to take Storybrooke out of the equation for the most part next season. I doubt we will see episodes that take place there when there probably won't be any real threat or anything going on in Storybrooke. The cloaking spell that Rumple gave to Belle sounds like the same spell that hid the town during the curse. Greg wasn't able to find it for decades before the curse broke even though he knew exactly where it was so I think that means the "home office" won't be a threat to Storybrooke while the rest of the main characters are away. Plus we already know that they stripped all of the Storybrooke props from Stevenson and even put up Mr. Gold's shop for lease. I think that means they won't return for quite a while.

Emilie tweeted that she starts filming again in July, but until the main characters return to Storybrooke I don't think we will see present-day Belle again. I think any scenes with Belle before that will either be flashbacks or dreams. We already know that time moves much faster in Neverland so I think when they return a couple of years will already have passed for everyone in Storybrooke and that will be a big mid-season plot twist for the show.

I think you misunderstood how time moves in Neverland. Roughly speaking, if a day goes by in our world it can easily have been three days or a week in NL.

Well we don't know yet how time moves in Neverland.
When Wendy returned she had no idea that she had only been gone for a night. She said that it felt like so much longer and that time must move differently in Neverland, but she didn't elaborate further.

If the main characters are there for a couple of months (the show usually follows real time based on seasonal change and things like that) then I think it's possible that when they return a couple of years will have passed for Storybrooke.

Yep yep, I am going to clean up the OP, have no fear. I just made the thread two minutes before I went to get an hour and a half of sleep before work so wasn't quite up to it right then

Thanks for that, I'll see if it's relevant for general S3 spoilers.

I hope we get to see what Neverland is like during the day. I wouldn't be surprised if we get Ariel and Tinkerbell next season. Fairies and mermaids do seem native to Neverland.

I think it's ridiculous how they've taken Belle out the equation, although Emilie doesn't sound like she's going to be sidelined most of the season. I think not showing Belle in Storybrooke will be a mistake.

But the way Wendy stated it appears that it would actually be the opposite - time moves slower in our world. So they could be years away in Neverland, not growing old, and return to a Storybrooke that only missed them for a few months.

I'm quite conflicted as to how I feel about the finale. Mostly in regards to Belle not joining them & Tamara and Greg/Owen's plotline being rush-rush-rushed.
