I don't know if she is dating, all we know is she likes feeling sexy. Now whether that's flirting with the old school friend or more.

Now I don't have a problem with Julia dating if she is 'on a break' from Joel but I really hope they work things out before the show ends, and not on the last ep aka Lorelai and Luke.

While creator Jason Katims won't get too specific about the final, 13-episode arc that challenges the Bravermans, he will say this: “We've never told a story about losing someone in the family, and that is a very difficult story for us to tell. But it's one that I feel is a reality.” Over on the Joel/Julia front, Katims says Season 6 will bring a change in dynamic for the couple “where it's Joel who's trying to get back into Julia's good graces. It's about refining Julia, who decides to move on with her life.” BONUS SPOILER | Hank's ex-wife Sandy (Breaking Bad's Betsy Brandt) will move back to the area with daughter in tow, hoping to get some parenting help as Ruby reaches a difficult age.
