They have a half of season to lay out why he needs off... I doubt it will be revealed she's alive until the season finale, last moments. Or the season premiere. It's obvious the actress is on maternity leave... If she had left the show for good. They would have done a interview with her. Or the network would have said she's gone for good... __________________

I'll watch the spinoff but if Tom's leaving and I'm assuming taking the baby with him not sure how Liz could still be alive.

And how they responded to this death raises everyone's suspicions given how they usually proceed when they lose a big star. There is usually a big interview saying, no hard feelings. "I wanted to leave". "It was time to go." Given she just had her baby last month. It all depends on if she did any extra scenes to reveal she's alive, for the season finale, or it will be the season premiere... Even some critics suspect she's still alive. __________________
