Scenes that send chills down your spine

You know those scenes.

For example, the "There is no God!" scene in I Am Legend. It is so powerful because you know Robert feels like the everything has given up on him, he's so hopeless and his frustration has taken over.

Juno - "I'm a planet!" That scene is so powerful yet simple. Juno's just a teenager and she's asking the boy she likes to like her back, but he's so scared and she's terribly hurt. Great acting there.

Titanic - When Rose gets off from the ship and runs to Jack and he keeps saying "You're so stupid, Rose" while kissing and hugging her.

Troy - When Achilles is calling for Hector and you know Hector is doomed and you just hold your breath before they fight.

In God's Hands - When Mickey gets eaten by the waves. He knows he's so doomed and he paddles on regardless, giving himself over to the sea.

RENT - I'll Cover You (Reprise) Oh man, serious chills on this one.

The Rules Of Attraction.. The bath suicide scene. Everything about it from the song Without You, to how calm she remains, is just so.. Spine Chilling to me.

lotr-In Return of the King when Gandalf and Pippin go to Minas Tirith. The music is amazing, the whole scene is just beautiful.

"As God is my witness...." scene in Gone with the wind (not to be cliche or anything )

The ending in Lost and Delirious when Paulie was on the roof. Also when her and Mouse were just screaming in the forest, letting out all their emotions and frustrations.

Almost Famous - 'Tiny Dancer' bus scene. My favorite movie moment, ever. So touching, so lovely .

Also the ending of Love me if you dare, when the camera starts to pan back from the two lovers as they kiss...and you realise they're
Spoiler:
committing suicide together.

blair witch project - end scene with the witch on the corner (damn! *shudders*)
a few good men - "you can't handle the truth!"
lake house - kissing scene

Welcome, Kara!

I agree about that moment in ET. I can't believe I forgot ET.

Guys, wow, some good moments! I agree with everyone. That scene in Crash is my favorite of the movie.

I have never seen The Rules of Attraction but that moment sounds chilling. I've heard it mentioned a couple of time, I have to watch that movie.

Pippin and Gandalf going to Minas Tirith is so wonderful. The music, the scenery, the anticipation, everything!

Also in LOTR, when Frodo is dying and Arwen takes him, that whole chase scene with the Nazgul always gets me!

In Fellowship too, when Legolas stands up for Aragon, "He is no mere ranger, he is Aragorn, son of Arathorn, you owe him your allegiance." I always rewind that part and squee.

basically the whole movie of Passion of the Christ

Phantom of the Opera when the overture plays with the like going back in time to the heyday of the Opera Populaire.

Psycho the shower scene

Rear Window like all of the suspenseful parts near the end of the film

West Side Story the end of the film with Maria's monologue

Jaws the USS Indianapolis monologue

and there's many more. this is just what pops into my head at the moment.

Thank you so much for that link! I'll go read about the movie to have some context to watch the clip.

Oh, good ones! In Passion, when Mary is running after Jesus, watching him at every turn and crying for her son. Oh my goodness, I remember every hair on my arm was standing up.

Maria trying to sing "Somewhere" with Tony, but Tony is dying. Then her monologue, "How many bullets, Chino?" Ohhh, good stuff.

Donnie Darko - "I met a new friend." -- "Real or imaginary?" -- "Imaginary."
(All praise Jake Gyllenhaal. He is a genious and a brilliant actor - I think Donnie Darko is the best movie and the best role he's ever done.)

I agree with that scene, ROCKSTAR. And also, I think the 'flying' scene in 'Titanic'. It's such a beautiful scene.

Philadelphia - The whole opera scene. It's such a weird, chilling scene.

Losing Isaiah - When they're taking Isaiah away to live with his birth mom.

Running Scared - the whole scene with the paedophiles, from the second Oleg got into the van I had an awful feeling, the single most creepiest scene Ive ever scene in a movie, their yellow house still sends chills down my spine.
