Mission Impossible Series #1
Hello out there!
I just won tickets to a "Tom Cruise Fan Screening" of Mission: Impossible 3! I called into a local radio station here in LA and I also won a video iPod. {Edited because this is a form of advertising - against board rules} Has anyone heard anything yet about this film? The trailer looks amazing and I bet Philip Seymore Hoffman is going to be a badass! Fans:

Uch - we can turn this into an M:I III thread, but the over-hype of the film is turning me off (and you definitely sound like a publicist).
Did you all hear about the snafoo with the recorders? Actually - I shouldn't laugh because I honestly would have thought they were bombs, too. About 400 recorders were placed around Southern Californian newspaper stands so that when you opened them to get a newspaper they'd play the M:I III theme music. Trouble is, some broke or fell off and they were red with wires sticking out - so people thought they were bombs...and now that I'm writing this it isn's so funny as idiotic on the part of those advertising the film. This is all ruining the fun for me and I was having a hard enough time getting over Tom Cruise's personal life nonsense (try to avoid it but it's everwhere!). __________________

Really? I thought I was the only one becaues I heard it early in the morning on the news radio, before I was fully awake - then nothing further.
And really, I was completely excited to see the movie until then, despite TC, as I said. Ah, well - good intentions poorly thought out, and all that... __________________

Seriously!
My news radio station that never discusses anything more than a blurb for entertainment has done several features in the last few days on the film and on Tom Cruise. The film had better live up to all this. __________________

I saw the movie and I would say JJ Abrams did a good job directing it. I'm not going into details about Tom's acting, but I think he played okay. I'm still loving the first Mission Impossible with Brian De Palma, though.
The effects were great and it's soooo Lost. Though, I don't really like movies that delve more on the love story so I dunno. I like the film to sum it all. __________________

I watched it today. Lots of stuff reminds me of Alias and I don't even watch Alias regularly.
I liked the scenes in Shanghai though. They were beautifully shot. The story was okay but the first MI is still more memorable. __________________

I've heard that - not sure I'll like it, then. Don't get me wrong, I like the TV shows, but I particularly liked John Woo's take on the series in the second film and don't know how JJ Abrams' style will translate.

I loved the second MI and I love the Woo, but it didn't really feel much like Mission: Impossible so much as Mission: Sexy The third one seems to be a good mix of the first and second. It has the complexity of the first, with the personal touch of the second. Personally, I really enjoyed it and I agree, it was beautifully shot.
And nothing .. NOTHING beats the 'We Are Family' moment for hilarity __________________
