Thanks for the new thread.
Finally got my SGA books i've been waiting on...my poor eyes are ready to fall out from reading too much. |
Anyone else getting bored with the flood coverage!
I mean it's important and all but come on 7, Nince have the cricket, Ten a movie and ABC1 a drama. ABC24 is enough already IMO. Only problem right now (for me) is all the ABC channels are breaking up. |
Yeah i've had enough of the practically 24 hour coverage. Haven't had the tv on much the last two days, been reading.
And you know, it pisses me off when the reporters stick a mike in front of some poor flood victim who has lost everything and asks then "How do you feel" How the frakk do you think they feel....why don't they just rub salt in it. |
Thanks for starting the new thread Craig. :)
Not been in a posting mood the last week. How is the weather there now? I read that it is letting up a bit now but it'll be like New Orleans in the clean up that'll take months and millions if not billions of dollars to finish - I just hope that they (the PTB) would build a bunch of HUGE dams on known floodways for future safety and for saving that flood water for when another drought comes so that they can not whinge that they have no water - then have too-much water like now... W.A had the drought for 4 years before all of the eastern state had it in the last decade. We are still in drought. :( Let me know when you want me to send the SD's and if you want anything else added onto them in place of other things in the meantime...I want to buy a few 16GB SD cards but keep forgetting to get them. Also a couple of 32GB USB flash sticks. ETA, I tried adding this before Netty's replies but the 'token' expired so had to reopen the tab... BTW, I have not watched any of it on the TV, saw a few YouTube clips that people made plus a few of the typical media pretentious vying for attention 24/7-style vulture feeding media coverage clips but not the tv networks. They can lick my b..ls......did I just type that? ;) I don't watch TV apart from *coughs* any more. It is all crap! Joke - Q: What do you call an Adobe Acrobat who has been arrested and jailed/gaoled? A: A PDF-file. ;) |
Not sure if they can build more damns in the SE of the state, it was just the perfect storm with an already full main damn now at close to 200%. They are talking about damns further north but that will take years and millions to see the light of day.
There hasn't been any real rain in the area for a few days but it's moving south and floods now in N-NSW. The big problem is they don't have enough clean/safe water for drinking and cleaning the mess left behind. Clint for things like this you really need to watch the TV news, at least catch the 6pm news. SD - should be fine to send them next week, most roads are open so the mail should get through. |
I check out the news.com.au links and ABC.net.au links plus YT videos - get what's going on well enough from that.
Our dams are no where near 100% let alone 200%.......... The last time I saw the Mundaring Weir/dam overflow (which is the most local one to me) which also it supplies water to many towns as well as a lot of the City plus Kalgoorlie/Boulder due to an Architect who killed himself after being ridiculed over his idea to do this which worked - C.Y . O'connor. The last overflow was in 1996 - ever since then W.A has been in a drought. |

They should have caught them!
The coverage out of Brisbane and other affected ares is heart breaking, now it's moved south through NSW and into VIC and TAS. |

I still think it could be a Military satellite that is testing the weather altering microwave technology on us being the ONLY country to have lived through the current downturn in the global economy.
You know me well-enough by now Craig that I do not turn to conclusions like this without real proof. :) I could show you but it for us 'domestic consumers' is still years away and as we all know governments/militaries and big business are about 10-20 years ahead of the average end domestic consumer such as us all so they could very well have this technology available right now. I have seen a prototype that could do small things not on a whacko website anywhere but on a BBC doco series with a bunch of other up and coming technologies. This combines with El Nino or La Niña (whichever it is this year of the 7 that usually alternate) which I think is this summer's turn can easily amplify and hide the outside efforts to create this issue. Yes, there are real whackos out there saying the satellite thing and have done for decades but they had no REAL grounded science behind it, I know now that the technology is available now at a domestic level and is possible in the real world culture small existing storms and move them to where you want then keep them there... :( I found this out about 3-4 weeks before the storms/flood hit QLD etc BTW, no BS! So this is NOT a case of me along with other sheeple doing Google searches for anything to find an answer - mine is before this happened and is actually full of real world FACTS. Goldilock burglars break into Alice Springs home, cook lunch and look at online porn | Herald Sun I would have loved to bash these bastards! Lived this crap before - NEVER again! :) ETA: http://www.news.com.au/technology/co...-1225988284212 http://www.news.com.au/national/bend...-1225988124651 More good news... |
Not sure about the satellite thing, but it could happen after all they have hidden the StarGate program from us for years :P
I'd assume if they spent that much time in the house finding fingerprints and stuff would be easy. Not surprised by the Facebook thing, it probably happens too often. |
The local McDonald's was closed here today due to a lack of food supplies.

Were you informed prior to driving Nephew there at 5:30am? ;)
Fujitsu’s Crazy Little Modular Pico-Projector Phone | Gizmodo Australia How's that for some seriously awesome features! :D Better than pretty much all phones out right now and this came out a while ago now too. Two 16:9 screens yes touch crap as they all are these days, 12.2MP camera, pico projector, detachable qwerty keyboard with slide out numbers and menu buttons allows you to type messages remotely and send them while the phone is separated from the keyboard section. You can also make/send calls with the keyboard or the touch phone part, the keyboard acts as a remote for the pico projector as well. Full of more features that are as long as Robert Wadlow's arm... which was very-long! :P |
He had a 10am start (I think) and they call well before time.
What they need is a phone which is just a PHONE! Maybe text but that's it, a simple touch screen with few options or maybe a smart phone where you can select a 'simple' mode to eliminate all the crap you don't need. |
