Hi, all.

I've got a question: given that nuWho is more dependent on overtly interconnected serialization than Classic Who, I'm not sure if I can just keep into the Twelfth Doctor's era in the same way as I did for the Sixth Doctor's era, and wanted some thoughts from others.

I think you could, the christmas special with River Song might not make much sense to you though.

I wouldn't have wanted to miss doctors 9-11, but if 12 what you have available at the moment, you could start there, it's not like you don't know what the tardis is or who the master is etc...

I'm considering delving into Twelve's era because of the opined similarities between him and Six, not because of a lack of access to the rest of the new series.

I started trying to answer my own question by doing some research and it looks like my initial worry was justified because in order to follow the template I've used with Six, I'd have to watch at least 6 different Eleventh Doctor stories (Asylum of the Daleks, The Snowmen, The Bells of St. John, The Name of the Doctor, The Day of the Doctor, and The Time of the Doctor), which is, I believe, almost half of Eleven's final season( if you count all 13 episodes of that season plus the 4 specials that either set up the season or helped wrap up Eleven's story) before I even got to Twelve's era, and there's a high possibility that I'd become very lost in the process.

* Sigh *

I was admittedly expecting this to be the case, but it's still disappointing.

No.

I started with the Ninth Doctor, but only saw 7 episodes of his series before I got distracted - largely due to real life - and stopped watching.

Delving into Colin's era is what reignited my interest in the franchise, although I had considered trying to find a way to watch Jodie's first series back when it premiered.
