I adore the title. God, I loved how their relationship and character arcs concluded in that last episode. Amy FINALLY chose Rory. There was such a romanticism and relief to see her declare and commit herself to Rory in every sense of the word. He had spent so long proving his love for her without much expectation of the same in return, and in the end, Amy did feel exactly the same way and decided she would rather be with him in a different life than go on in the same life without him.

Yeah that Rory line (in our thread title) was very telling because it's true. I know Amy loves Rory but sometimes I feel like Rory did love her more.

^ I don't think it was an issue of who loved who more (the final episode definitely brought balance between them, with her ready to give up everything else to find him again).

I think it was simply that Rory was more upfront with love declarations and Amy needed to grow beyond her childish obsession with the Doctor to see how much Rory meant to her.

I really didn't like Amy during the start of S5 because of her crush on the Doctor. It's all understandable though because she was just a kid and the Doctor came into her life like a hero and a dream. She waited for him. So I can imagine Amy telling this to Rory because they are close and by the time the Doctor came back, Amy was already older and engaged. It wasn't until "Amy's Choice" where I did feel that Amy truly loves Rory. I needed that ep to get me truly on-board with these two.

Yeah see I still like Amy I didn't hate her but it seemed to me that she got engaged young ..to maybe her first real BF? So she was young and scared the dr was a confident man who knew stuff so she loved that idea and him. It wasn't until she actually lost rory that she knew and really felt how much she loved rory and how little she cared for the doctor compared to rory

I always liked Amy. I just ignored her crush on the Doctor. It was way easier to ignore her crush on the Doctor than it was Rose's so I think that's why it didn't bother me.

The whole Rose/10 crush was a storyline I didn't care for at all.

Same Amy. I don't really ship anyone with the Doctor so I don't care much for 10/Rose.

Petra, that's true. She got engaged so young. Plus the whole time she was engaged, she was travelling with the Doctor. But at least Rory was there with her. If he wasn't, I feel like maybe they'd call of the engagement.

What I meant was, hypothetically, if Rory didn't come, if Eleven didn't allow it, I don't think he & Amy would work. Amy would still continue to travel with the Doctor, Rory will let her because she loves that. By the time she gets back, I'm sure there will be a time jump and the lack of time together will affect them. So I'm glad the Doctor actually let Rory join him & Amy. He's always been a big supporter of their relationship.
