They are happily together now. Everything they lived through cemented that.

 great video! :bawl: i  the song.

Not in vain they get married in both timelines. :sigh:

Jasper1975 01-13-2018 06:05 PM

And in real time, a year younger than they were in the other timeline LOL. So you would think it was meant to be if in both timelines they found each other, and conquered the angst, and committed to each other.

I like to write angst in my stories. But I hate to see it LOL, But Max and Liz, I just don't see how anything separated them again...

until death did they part! And even then sometimes that is known to have many lives.

Amaranto 01-13-2018 07:23 PM

True, and not even death could with them.

I like angst but in the case of Max/Liz ... the way it was handled was not the best.

My issue was that Season 2 just piled on the angst. As much as I hate it, and have a hard time watching the episode even today. "End of the World" is plausible. And has enough merit, given the circumstances of what we were dealing with. Aliens, and how much they were finding out...

Then to pile on everything after Alex died with them. Max and Liz at war (although it was passionate as twisted and hard to watch as it was), and then Max sleeps with Tess and then presto a baby. And they are supposed to come back from that...

It's soapy, and the usual angst. But to do it when the show was struggling. And the way the season seemed to be heading, did not warrant it. It was too much!

They had pored so much with "End of the World", and even if it started it and you sorta did have to follow through what you start. Show that if you push someone away, there is the danger he will eventually fall into their arms, and consequences can be had!

But it was too much!

azure angel 01-14-2018 08:24 AM

It was too much  people were done towards the end of "busted"

Amaranto 01-14-2018 03:53 PM

It was a shame that an episode like EOTW was basically created only to break up the protagonists ... we deserved to see Max/Liz and the group talking about it.

azure angel 01-15-2018 04:24 AM

I know there's a cut scene of that in departure, but I'm fine with that because that was not what I wanted.

Damocles 01-15-2018 06:50 AM

They never filmed the cut scene, correct?

azure angel 01-15-2018 07:07 AM

^ I don't think so, and your icon is so cute

Jasper1975 01-15-2018 09:00 AM

It exists in a early draft of the script. It was never filmed, or if it was... it was never in the finished show or bloopers of it...

But yeah on Roswell Uncut, a website looking at the cut scenes from scripts for majority of episodes (even has a look at a original version of the pilot)... There is a discussion on Future Max in Departure. During the scene where Max questions Liz on her slip about sleeping with Kyle, and she tries to discuss it.... But never aired or probably filmed. Probably was cut because it was a very difficult discussion to have, and they had only so much time... Especially if the show was on borrowed time on WB!

This is the website if you want to look at all episodes...

Roswell Uncut

But this is the relevant. Cut scenes from "Departure".

Departure Cut Scenes

Thanks for the links & tell you, thanks God those were cuts; I mean those scenes were terrible to Liz and Max/Liz.

Amaranto 01-15-2018 02:01 PM

^^^^^From the moment Katims decided all that mess was real there was no way that Liz was not affected ... and at least the flashbacks when they kissed should not have been cut but I do agree.

azure angel 01-16-2018 04:30 AM

I hated departure, two seconds of Max and Liz hugging was not enough.

Damocles 01-16-2018 07:56 AM

Thanks for those links! It's been awhile since I read that.
