Agreed. It also seems more in character if that's even possible for characters who never appeared on screen.
It stands to reason that the people who avoided adult responsibilities, not just their taxes but their child, would avoid prison.

It just occurred to me that it also complies with their having totally ignored Cordelia when she was in the hospital for the rebar.
The hospital wouldn't have been able to find them if they'd fled the country and even if the news still could have reached them, to check in on her would have meant either returning to SD or revealing their location.

I'm grateful for Cordy's existence but these are the type of people who should have been held down and forcibly neutered before they had children!

I won't spoil too much but let's just say that the show's planned antics became unnecessary and Cordy was still a BAMF.
Her characterization is also a spot on midway transition between Queen C and pre-Groo season 3 mama bear Cordy.
Ex. She intentionally scares her roommate into being one of the first to quit the show just to have their bedroom and bathroom to herself but prior to that during the shooting of the introduction episode, she, again intentionally embarrasses herself on camera to send a subtle message of a vision she'd had to the team.

Apart from the drinking and the (man)whoring, Cordelia even in SD reminded him of what he once was; a confident go-getter with a lust for life who did what she wanted regardless of what anyone had to say about it.

Much as was the case for Buffy, she kind of represented the freedom t live and to love that the curse dangled just out of his reach.

He was probably secretly hoping that some of her light would brighten his life and little did he know how it would.

I absolutely agree!
It's impossible for him to have mistaken her for Buffy with a vampire's sense of smell.
Not to mention he was under the impression that Buffy was home taking the night off. Before that night he had no reason not to believe her.

I believe he was headed to Buffy's house, spotted Cordy walking around at night alone and was worried but also wanted to play a bit with her.

I wish there were more fics that filled in the blank after Cordy got him to agree to escort her home. I've only come across one.

I am new here.

I started to read this thread and I must admit that I was surprised to see that Cangel is, in 2019, Always evocated.

I discovered this couple 20 years ago and I became a Cangel addict since this time…

The way they grew together was amazing and logically for me they were meant to be.

I must admit that I hate JW for what he did.

1snowhitequeen1 is really doing a wonderful job on Cangel vid. I love what she does.

For me, Cangel is the best couple in a TV show. To see them going from co-workers to lovers was and is the best growth I've ever seen.

I am used to rewatch Angel very often. What is really interesting in Cangel is that you really identify yourself to their story. I don't care what thinks Bangel's fans even if I respect their opinion.

I can't believe there is a thread for my favourite buffyverse couple I watched both Buffy and Angel so much as a kid it was and will always be two of my all time favourite TV shows. I was so sad Cangel didn't get a happy ending. I will have to check some of these videos out.
