Despite what Angel was about to say in Doppelgangland about your vamp side not being far away from your human self, I still think there was a huge difference between Vamp!Willow's preference for girls She hated Oz and the "white hats", whereas the real Willow adored him. I still don't think that people would be labeling Willow as a lesbian, if they hadn't introduced Kennedy for her in Season 7. Willow never had any sexual problems in her relationship with Oz. Plus, her last conversation with Oz was clearly foreshadowing a romantic future for them that was still possible. Quote:
It's as if they purposefully avoided the bisexual route in the end, to try and make the audiences forget about Seth. The magic addiction seemed to be tied to when Willow saved Tara's mind from Glory's thrall, so I definitely think a lot of the unhealthy behavior with it in Season 6 related to how much she had exerted herself in her attempts to save Tara's life and that's why I always hated how Tara turned against Willow in Season 6. It just seemed really ungrateful. __________________

I'm not sure about that. It might've been possible that Seth was busy at the time. I feel differently there. I hated how Willow decided to do the same thing to Tara after what has happened with Glory, so I understand Tara. Cute pic. I love how he kisses her hand and looks at her while she adores it. |

That, too But I think the addiction originated when Willow finds out that Glory took advantage of Tara and she goes to visit Glory completely enraged. They talk about it in Season 5 finale - Willow using magics beyond her control to bring back Tara to normality. So, I think she was already addicted to magic before the resurrection spell on Buffy. That's the sad thing, to me - the group gave Willow hell for the way he addiction got out of control, but they never consider the fact that her addiction started by trying to help her loved ones. Also, I don't think it's a coincidence that Willow's magic got out of control when Oz left. I think that was the catalyst. She missed him terribly. __________________

I loved when Willow became addicted to magic then turned evil towards the end of the season (one of the only things I like about S6) but I do agree Oz was the catalyst of it. She almost cast a revenge spell against him when she found out about him and Veruca, but didn't go through with it. Then when he left she cast that spell to make her feel nothing but it affected everyone else.

I think it built up slowly Giles broke my heart when he said I thought if ANYONE would understand her, it would be him. Giles saw how devastated Willow was when Oz left. He spoke to her about it in 'Seeing Blue', yet he goes crazy at her for bringing Buffy back. Was it reckless? Yes, but she did it for something GOOD. __________________

tbh I was more on Giles's side
she was getting pretty careless/reckless with her magic Last edited by atwoodsmariano; 06-10-2018 at 12:01 PM |

Willow was never a woman to struggle with her sexuality or anything and she wasn't attracted to any women before Tara... so it was ridiculous. Well I didn't forget about Seth/Oz so it didn't work. Willow became addicted to magic when she brought Buffy back from the dead. That's the moment that changed her and made her realize how powerful she can be... it's why even Giles was so against it because he knew how bad that was and of course that's when Tara slowly started to see her change. I couldn't blame Tara there because her addiction with magic went so overboard that she started using it on her. After what Glory did to her mind, I never could understand how Willow could do that to Tara if she truly loved her and not just ONCE, she played with Tara's mind MANY times.... that's just not right or healthy. She almost got Dawn killed in a car crash... Her magic was too much. Quote:

I'm in mid S5 in my rewatch but I agree Willow was out of control with her magic in S6. I also agree her making Tara forget their fight and other things was extremely disturbing. I understood Giles being mad, usually bringing someone back from the dead is bad, they come back all screwed up and not themselves obviously (and that happened with Buffy in some ways, mostly having that abusive sexual relationship with Spike. If she wasn't so depressed and lost over dying and coming back, she wouldn't of touched him) S6 is my least favorite season but I do look forward to seeing Willow's addiction to magic then her turning evil. Who would of thought little ol' shy meek Willow would turn into such a savage, powerful, badass witch?

I think there were more delicate ways he could have handled the topic, though. Willow even reminds him of his nasty attitude towards her, when she turns bad later in the season. The things he said to her in that scene are personal attacks, just uncalled for in my opinion Plus, he had no right to judge her. She did what she felt she had to do. She thought Buffy was suffering in hell because of her sacrifice for their lives. I personally thought Giles went crazy at Willow out of guilt, because he was too concerned with his departure to pay attention to what was going on with them Willow basically put her life on the line for Buffy's sister and the whole group countless times, and she was never thanked for it Oz wouldn't have let things go on as long as they did. Remember how he reacted in Season 3 when it was a choice between the Mayor's box or Willow's life? He smashes the ornament against the wall to let the group know: It's Willow's life; no second option. __________________

I loved how while they were arguing, Oz didn't say a word and just smashed the pot lol.
