There were a lot of funny Buffy/Xander moments. We had Parker unsuccessfully try his charms on Willow. Spike was nowhere to be seen after his capture by the Initiative. And Giles continues to pop in and out of the Scoobs lives.

This was not a bad episode nor was it great. I look at it as a comedic episode and that’s fine by me. There were a lot of really funny moments:

Buffy: I'm suffering the afterness of a bad night of badness

Willow: You didn't. Not with Parker again.

Buffy: No, with four really smart guys.

Willow: Four? Oh. Ow. Oh Buffy, are you okay? Do you wanna talk about
it?

Buffy: I went to see Xander. Then I saw Parker. Then came beer.

Willow: And then group sex?

Buffy: (Hits her) Gutter face. No! Just lots and lots of beer. It's
nice. Foamy. Comforting. It's just beer.

Giles: Blonde. Um, about this tall. Walks with a sort of a sideways
limp.

Giles: I can't believe you served Buffy that beer.

Xander: I didn't know it was evil

Giles: But you knew it was beer

Xander: well excuse Mr. “I spent the sixties in an electric Kool-Aid
funky Satan groove”.

This actually felt like a Xander episode that wasn’t. The episode starts with the announcement of his new (and somewhat illegal) job as a bartender. He mentions that it now makes him apart of their college life - an issue that he’s been dealing with and will continue to deal with throughout the season. His attempts at being friendly are used to make fun of him by annoying frat boys.

Then he baby-sits Back in the day Buffy and practically saves the day.

In this episode Buffy is in serious denial about Parker. It’s quite pathetic after a while because it’s so obvious that he’s a bad guy but Buffy has this hope that he’s going to apologize and be her Prince Charming. Cave Buffy has no such preconceptions

Beer Bad is by far one of the funniest episodes on the show.

Giles: The. Tv. Is. Off.

Giles: Whos car is that?
Xander: I don't know. It wasn't locked.

Buffy (thumps herself in the chest): Buffy strong.
Giles (cleary scared): Yes, Buffy very strong.

When CaveBuffy threw the fire stinguisher into the fire. When Parker finally apologized for manipulating Buffy into sleeping with him and she hits him on the head with a big stick. When Xander leads her away from the car of cave men. Xander taking advantage of the guys being drunk by giving himself a huge tip.

Love the Giles moments in this ep, especially the scene where he's trying to describe Cave Buffy.

I remember when I first watched the trailer I thought that Willow was going to sleep with Parker. Of course, I do think that the only reason she didn't is that she KNEW that Parker was a womanizing jerk that would lie and sweet talk and manipulate you until you were just another notch on his headboard and then want nothing to do with you because he'd been there and done that and was on to his next conquest. I cannot believe that Poophead got to have sex with Buffy. And he bragged about how good she was in bed and how he used her in The Initiative. I was glad that Riley knocked his lights out.

Why would Willow sleep with Parker? Wasn't she still with Oz at the time?

she was. I love Willow in this ep She really put Parker in his place. Showed him real good what a shallow jerk he was

Willow was really upset over Oz being attracted to Veruka, who was a fellow musical artist and could relate to him in a way that Willow couldn't. It is why she went to yell at Parker. Because she had bottled up--well, she did tell Buffy how she felt, that Veruka made her feel like a lame groupie--her feelings about Oz and frustrated and a little angry and needed someone to vent at.

I still believe that it was his wolf that was attracted to her wolf. Oz was not interested in Veruca and her crappy music
