indeed! You didn't know about it? I heard about that a while ago already
I did, but last time they mentioned anything about it was July 2010, I think. So I thought they given up on it or it was just a rumor. But this time Meryl herself said it

Just finished seeing The Craddle Will Rock. I dislike musicals but the story and the actors in this one made me change my mind. I highly recommend it.

Heh musicals are just a vast genre. There's good and bad in it. Glad you found one that you liked
This one really is a no-fault cast though and Tim Robbins is brilliant! Have you seen any of his other movies?

Of him as director? Dead man walking, is there any other? As an actor, I've seen some more, he's one of my favorites actors.

How is the work of a film director measured? I mean, what is considered to analyse how good or bad it is? I'll do a search to find out.

I guess I've watched the bad ones I usually fast forward most parts of musicals, but no with The Craddle Will Rock.

He's a great actor! Loved him in almost everything I saw with him.
And yeah there is, you should check it out. Bob Roberts is the title. It's a fake documentary about a right wing politician running for Congress. It's brilliant. And there's music too because the guy presents himself as the anti-thesis to folk music liberals Great cast too.

Well it depends on the director I guess. A good choice of script is already important but really a director is responsible for the mood of the movie, the vibe it sends, not just the visual parts. You can change so much of a movie just by altering the editing or directing the actors a different way.

don't feel bad, there are a lot of bad ones, especially in recent years because it's a bit of a trend to get the worst casts and hack great Broadway musical to Hollywood pieces.
Have you seen Evita?

Old time musicals

I must say I have been disappointed by the recent "efforts" because they were only about hype and propping up popular actors who can't sing in parts that badly needed musical professionals.

I'm waiting to see what they do with Les Miserables. Let me tell you that Russel Crowe is not anywhere near what's needed for Javert. Jackman is good though so we'll see.

Right? and with such a great director! Not that the musical was outstanding to start with. They chose it only because they thought they could pack it with (useless) celebs!
