Isn't he awful? He didn't even apologize when talking with her later either. I've lost tons of respect for him.

The comment was bad in the sense that you don't hear it often here, not out in the open, you know? Male professional athletes in this country typically are not that freaken stupid to be that obvious even if some are thinking it. You simply don't hear this kind of stuff. However, you are right that it's how he handled it after the fact that's even worse... for sure.

He's an arrogant, sexist, jerk basically.

When you see his expression AS she's asking the question even before he makes the disgusting comment... just watching his non-verbal communication it's just repulsive.

This is why up thread I mentioned racism is not the only thing that needs tackled in this country. Sexism still exists as well. Maybe people are better about hiding sexism. But as we see, it's still around.

I missed that! Wow! That is disgusting!

The problem is #1. He's an idiot and a lunatic and #2. He knows he's losing popularity and doesn't want to further piss off the Republicans who still back him.

I know! Cam is lucky he insulted a professional female reporter. She won't even explain what he said to her in that one on one conversation either which must have been just as bad since he didn't apologize. He's lucky he was a prick to a professional woman because she's not going to use this to take him down even more.

There are endless professional, really good female sports reporters in this country. Like they were just saying on First Take... there are many male reporters who have no business reporting. There's a good balance of both good male and female reporters.

Cam has displayed immaturity and arrogance in general about many different topics over the years. His boyish immature breakdown when he lost in the Super Bowl, I will never forget. But this takes the cake and he should be ashamed. Apparently he's not though.

I agree with this, but for me to be honest the comment is not the worst because I would not be offended by that. I would actually laugh it off and say something back like "I'm not your typical woman so thanks for noticing it out". And I will show the person that I interpret this as compliment. In that case I always win. Either they did not want to offend me and we are OK or they wanted to offend me and I screwed them over . I would of course still talk to the person and explain face to face when we are alone.

However also there are people that would not think that this is offensive and they might try to joke. The moment you tell them that this is not OK for you they understand and they do not do it anymore. And that is how mature people should handle this. So this is what I meant. The comment per se is bad, but I have witnessed worse. The way he reacted to it shows total sexism, ignorance and even arrogance.

You are correct though - both racism and sexism still exist. In fact if you ask me what sucks currently (and not just in your country, but all over the world) is that people and society claims to not be racist or sexist when in fact it still is. And people do not want to even admit it because technically they claim to not be racist or sexist. On top of that quite often people do not even realize that their comments are sexist or racist because someone taught them that we involved and we no longer have issues with that.

This is why I no longer let micro-aggressions go buy. Call me a loud black woman if you want, I don't care. But, like I said in another thread I have to learn to pick my battles and language very carefully. One thing that struck me about Europe is that it is quite racist, xenophobic, and sexist but somehow they think of themselves as more enlightened then those lowly Americans and I just want to scream internally because the issue is global not local. People like trump are getting elected throughout Europe.

You see the blatant racism in soccer alone in Europe. I've heard horror stories about sexism too, especially in the workplace. You mentioned before they are hiring Trump-like leaders. What countries? I wonder why this is never talked about? Trump, I guess, is the main punching bag because he's the most powerful leader in the world maybe? Very concerning that this type of leader is getting elected in Europe and no doubt, other parts of the world too.

I would tell the person to shove it up their you know what. I wouldn't even bother talking to this person because if he says it, he means it, and there's no changing his mind anyway.

It is offensive to me because you don't hear it out loud in this country. No doubt, there has to be other players like Cam who feel like he does... they just don't talk about it out loud like Cam did. So that's why it's shocking to me and it's offensive. One of the things I like about this country... especially in the workplace... harassment, sexism, there are strict laws in this country. I mentioned before how floored I was hearing about the ex French friend and what went on in her workplace. So much sexism my jaw was on the floor. She literally thought it was normal and not very offensive. I was sitting with a Canadian friend as we were hearing stories and we just couldn't believe what she was saying transpired. Her own boss calling her dress hot and telling her she looked sexy that day. Even saying he wanted to have sex with her! Her very own boss! If a boss in the US or Canada remotely acted like that and it was reported (which it usually always is) walking papers would be given immediately. Or the guys talking about sex during the workday knowing the females were hearing everything. One woman was hired and they all had sexual jokes about her behind her back. It was a running joke. That's so inappropriate. US and Canada, that kind of stuff is not tolerated in the workplace, thankfully. So that's why hearing Cam talk like that about a woman is shocking and offensive to many because it's thankfully not common. The vast majority of men know you don't say that stuff because the culture here is you will look like an arrogant, sexist, pig. Thus, you don't hear it.

None of them have won the election by a majority, but they gained a lot of ground in Germany, Sweden, UK and France. Germany is especially concerning cause of its history with naziism. I think the focus is on trump cause he is such a caricature. But, the west as a whole is losing its economic dominance to Asia and with that comes a lot of fear mongering. Well no empire lasts forever. Frankly I think that level of dominance for one region as a whole is not good. There needs to be a balance because realistically the dominance always comes at the expense of oppression others.

Ugh that guy Cam. He is an apologist for racists so he deserves the heat he is getting.
