A bridge is basically three crowns that are rooted on two teeth, so the tooth in between (the one that is missing) is filled in with a fake tooth that is part of the bridge. So the bridge is connected to two teeth on either side of the tooth that's missing, and you can't tell that the middle tooth is fake. Nowadays, they would put in an implant for the missing tooth, but back then they would make a bridge. The dental insurance that I had years ago, when most of my dental work was done, was very good, but nowadays major dental work would only be covered 50%. I go to the dentist every four months for a cleaning and I haven't had any dental issues in years, fortunately.

He's definitely thoughtless and selfish. Teresa's temp assignment ends on Friday, so she'll be looking again.

I will let her know when I go to the appointment. I have told her that I have issues with this, but I will say it again next week.

Nope but they called and asked if I could come in at 1:45 instead of 2:20 so I'm leaving shortly. I'll arrive at 1:30 just in case they can take me ever earlier.
I will check your next post for the progress on this topic (btw how it's correct to say this - progress on this topic, progress with this topic or progress in this topic).

That's good!

However, the tooth next to one extracted (that I am getting an implant for) needs a root canal. It is too deep for him to do so I need to see a specialist for that one. Insurance refuses to cover this one so I have to pay in full.
Ah sucks that you have to pay for this. Is only our insurance that does not cover root canal or this is normal and such procedures are never covered.

Quote:
The other two that need crowns my regular dentist will do once he takes care of the premolar and I see the specialist for the molar. I wish my regular dentist could do everything but I guess my luck sucks so there you go, lol.
With you it's always like that. Whatever there is, there is always some complexity. Sucks .

I will call around tomorrow for the right specialist. I tried today but it's close to closing and I am not getting anywhere. I'll start fresh in the morning.

Regarding Buddy... since he's having flare ups... vet did the diagnostics and sent to radiologist... esophagus looks fine, no obstructions anywhere... however his intestines look slightly thickened which matches up with the specialist saying he had inflammatory bowel. She said on the voice mail (my luck she called when I was at the dentist apt!) we could do another test to check on the IBD. I emailed her questions since I have lots of them like cause and diet change and why we'd do the other test. I have started the probiotics. I read Inflammatory Bowel in dogs just means inflammation/reacting to the diet so it's about getting the right diet figured out. Well I thought I did since he never had a flare up for 8 months until now. Sucks. Oh well, we'll communicate.
I hope that she answers your questions soon! Did you agree on day and time for the next test?

Makes sense. Good that you haven't had any dental issues in years. Outside of cavities when I was younger, I've never had a thing wrong with my teeth. No braces, not even a retainer which was incredible. I've never even had a wisdom tooth out before. Then all of a sudden problems hit (molars, now premolars) and it has been one thing after another for the past several years. I assume hormonal issues are the direct cause because that's the only thing that has changed.

So sorry you have to deal with that jerk. Has Teresa liked her temp assignment overall? I hope she gets something else very soon!

Good because what you go through is severe! That is just not the norm, you have a very rare, powerful effect due to those dilating drops. Maybe she has a suggestion to help with this.

Progress in this topic wouldn't be correct..

Thanks! It's so weird how my insurance completely pays for certain teeth. One set is entirely covered (premolar) and another type isn't covered at all (molar).

Nope. I'm even confused on why he'd need another test if this last one came up with a diagnosis or a diagnosis that we basically already knew he had. I asked a ton of questions so hopefully she responds back today. She will if she's in. Not sure what her schedule is but I assume she's in today.

Thanks ! I have always used on, but I kind of blocked and decided to check in google. And in google it was mentioned in and with but not on and I was like super surprised. For a moment I was like "Have you used on wrong for so long?" .

Weird indeed. Do you have ways to check why it's like that?

I had tons of cavities when I was a kid, then I had braces, and then I started needing crowns. I'm glad that I haven't had any teeth issues in years. Yes, it does sound like the hormonal changes have caused your current issues with your teeth.

Thanks. Teresa really liked her temp job, but she was so efficient at what she did that she wouldn't have anything to do after a while. What was good about this assignment is that it's near where I work so we got to meet for lunch.

Sometimes it's just about what sounds better too. I have never seen "in" used in that case.

Nope. Just stupid insurance. I think the reasoning is premolars are closer to the front of your mouth so they don't want people to have missing teeth that can easily be seen. Molars are in the back so it's more of a "cosmetic" choice... in other words, you can pull and people don't see but if you still want to go there, it's out of your pocket.

Probably the number of cavities caused our crown issues later on in life. The cavities for me were due to the minor immune deficiency I have. It's tied directly to the mucous membranes like the mouth, sinuses, eyes, GI tract. Those areas, I don't have enough IgA to sometimes clear out pathogens. As we know the mouth is filled with bacteria so it makes sense when I was younger I developed more cavities than the average person.

Nice. Too bad they couldn't have found her a more challenging position within that very company. Really great she hit the assignment out of the park. I am sure she'll get something else soon.

I think with me it was partly genetic (the Irish tend to have bad teeth) and also when I was a kid, I’d brush my teeth of course but I ate a lot of sweets and I didn’t know about flossing until I was an adult. On top of that, it’s hard to brush your teeth when you wear braces, so I got a lot of cavities due to having braces.

Teresa felt that they didn't want to teach her a lot or have her do a lot because she was a temp who was only going to be there a few weeks.

Mich, I am sorry you are still having tooth issues. Jerry, sorry to hear about issues with your boss.

I have forgotten how much creativity teaching young kids take. I have gotten used to oral presentations and essays that I've forgotten the art of cutting and pasting synonyms and antonyms. But, its a lot of fun.

Also, I have been attending meetings to deal with some very personal issues especially in regards to my buried anger issues. One thing, I am learning is to take time and appreciate the good things in my life.

That makes sense. You know what's funny is I almost never flossed my teeth when I was little. I'd go in for a check up and the dental hygienist would commend me for the great job I did faithfully flossing my teeth. My cousin was obsessed with taking care of her teeth. She flossed three times daily and developed gum disease very early on in her life. I think it's about genes and bad luck for the most part.

Ah, I got it. So they really were looking for a temp and not interested in anything more. That sucks but it's also kind of good that they didn't give her any sort of false hope either.

Are you guys going to go somewhere next week?
