You know that's something that non-Boba fans don't get...the man is in 2 starwars movies for a grand total of like 5 minutes....and he's got this cult following.....boggles the mind.
It really is amazing. He even had a fan following before his short appearance in the movies, when he first appeared in the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special. I am a proud member of the Fett cult following.

Also if you're really into the expanded universe he's in a lot of books. Other than Luke, Leia, and Han I would say he is the most featured Star Wars movie character in the books.

When I have some time I should post up a Mando dictionary.
They use a lot of Mando words in the Republic Commando books.
I haven't gotten a chance to read those yet. I'm WAY behind. :(

BehrItAll 03-29-2008 08:23 PM

I hope you get to read them soon. They are some of the best EU books.

Boba was in the Holiday Special?

I only saw parts of it on youtube.
Like when Leia sang.

Yep. The Boba Fett Appreciation thread has a link to his part in the opening post.

BehrItAll 03-29-2008 08:52 PM

Ah, I'll have to check that out. Thanks.

I've read Legacy of the Force! How is Kal not all Mando?? Ok, I admit I still have to get through the second half of Revelation, but that's only because I'm trying to make it last til Invincible comes out.

Kal is like the best Mando out there! And if anyone is looking for a Mando'a English dictionary go to karentraviss.com and you can find one there. There's also some awesome audio files as well.

FreedomsBullets 03-30-2008 09:31 PM

*Covers eyes* NO I haven't gotten to those books yet!:(

Artima Bale 03-30-2008 09:35 PM

Well what are you waiting for? ;) You want Mando stuff those are the books to go to. And Republic Commando.

LOL this is true. Gosh what have I been doing with my life? College? Psh, screw it. SW 4EVER.

Artima Bale 03-30-2008 09:38 PM

Haha I know how you feel!! I am currently still ignoring a very important piece of hw that is due Monday morning....

FreedomsBullets 03-30-2008 09:42 PM

Psh HW. Do the Mandalorians do hw? NO. ...Though they probably would if ordered to, but we can't be expected to have that discipline.

All this exciting SW talk may have made you forget, but Monday is tomorrow. :D Is the assignment by any chance about SW? cause if so you might be safe.

Artima Bale 03-30-2008 09:43 PM

Haha, Monday is indeed tomorrow. In fact my assignment is due at 9:05am, so I have a little over 7 hours to complete it. 0_o And sadly no, it's not SW related at all. I think it has something to do with the immune system.

OMG you think? :lmao:

Someday I want to write a paper on SW. I'm a political science major, so maybe I can find a way to tie it in with a government topic... hmmm...

Anyway, back on topic so no one gets mad at us ;). Does anyone have a favorite Mandalorian?

Artima Bale 03-30-2008 09:59 PM

Hahaha, yes, I think because I glanced at it earlier and saw something to do with viruses before I got distracted by the nearest shiny object.

That would be way cool! I'm sure there's someway to tie it all together. I'm still trying to apply my limited genetics knowledge to Force-heredity....

All my favorite Mandalorians are from the Republic Commando books. And I guess I'll leave it at that. Though Boba and Jango are definitely on the list.

So living on Coruscant would really suck for you?:P

LOL. Recessive gene that started when beings were first evolving before they split off into different groups and spread across the galaxy? But that only works if SW has a theory comparative to all Homo Sapiens evolving from australopithecines, which I doubt since the species are so diverse. Though that would explain why the force sensitive gene is non-existent in some species but the norm in others...

:DThat's very considerate of you. Jaster Mereel is definitely on my list with the Fetts. Not just because he's awesome, but I have a serious fangirl illness for father/son relationships. I don't know what I find so fascinating about them, but SW has the best. Between Jaster Mereel and Jango Fett and Jango Fett and Boba a little part of my brain shuts down from all the withheld squealing everytime I think about the Mandalorians. Mereel and Jango are especially awesome because he's not his real father, which for some reason makes it better.
