Star Wars Celebration III
 

So, who's going to Celebration?

Tickets go on Sale Monday...for those that haven't been, it is well worth the effort. This is a starwars fest like NO OTHER!

Where and when is it?

I went to Celebration 2, but now I won't make it to three. It's a little too far away from where I live now, and if I do any traveling it will be for other reasons.

Celebration 2 was quite an experience for me because it was the first convention I've ever gone to. I'd love to go to more (though less about SW and more sic-fi/fantasy in general).

It will be in indianapolis, IN, april 21-24th....4 day passes are going for 95 dollars.

Celebration II was so awesome, it's hard to be put into words...now that Wizards of the Coast is out of the picture, maybe it will be even better.

What is that? Like a fan gathering of some sort?

It's a convention for fans. There are show rooms, and guests such as some of the actors from the movie.

Think Star Trek conventions, only for Star Wars instead. ;) One of my favorite parts about going was seeing all of the costumes.

OK, I see:) That reminds me, Anyone here watch late night TV...I'm a loyal Tonight Show fan, sometimes I'll watch a little bit of Conan after Jay's show is over...and he did a segment where he took the "puppet"...this dog...hand held puppet to a SW gathering of some sorts...it was the funniest bit I have ever seen on TV. Actually...the best part was when a Star Treck fan showed up...and he gave an imperial storm strooper fan the finger...then a guy with a fake lightsaber threaten to kick his a** with it...it was the best thing ever...I laughed so hard...there's actually a DVD that I'm gonna buy that has this particular convention:)

Celebration is the only Officially sponsored convention held by Lucas. :)

I got my 4 day tickets today, and booked my room. I'm staying at the Radisson.

You can get the DVD. I will, I swear, it was the funniest thing I have EVER seen on TV. That SW convention thing:)

I think it's over a year old material for sure. I'll be getting the DVD for the christmas...it's gonna be great.

I'm thinking of seriously going to this Celebration thing...I've never been to a convention of any kind...and this sounds like fun. Plus, if you're going I'll have someone to "mentor me" while I'm there...wouldn't want the sith to get discovered while at a fan convention:look:...:mischief:

Dood, it's absolutely fantabulous.

I'm going with three of my friends, one will be staying with me in the hotel room, but we're using it as a base of operations since it's so close.

There is just so much to learn, so much to see, so many people to meet.

The stars mingle with the crowd, the 501st is there, performing crowd control, in uniform....seriously, lucas brought out the Wampa costume and had a wampa roaming the halls, and that's not counting the vendor area, sales area, collectors area, autograph area, etc etc.

The convention sounds like fun. Have they announced who's scheduled to appear?

There's no one announced yet, but it will be about twice as big as celebration II. I'm hoping too meet Amy Allen again, the new girl playing Shaak Ti. She's an ex israeli soldier who was a trainer for their hand weapon combat.

And she's super hot!
