Not the TFA one but probably will be in the TLJ one a bit I'm guessing...unless they're playing a major part in episode 9 and then will only be in that novelization.

They talk about them in TFA briefly and then in TLJ they explain that they're the students that sided with Kylo when Luke tried to kill him and destroyed the temple.
ETA: Correction, they don't talk about them in TFA, they show him in Rey's vision when she touches the saber. __________________

I actually wanted to go to the cinema to see TLJ for the second time, but turns out it's only dubbed now, so I will have to wait for Blu-Ray

At this point I'd be incredibly surprised if the Knights of Ren don't make their grand return (can you call it a return if they've never really been there?) in episode IX

So, I looked into it and I found on multiple sites that they were created by Kylo.
But I also found something else. Apparently it was six years after the Jedi Temple massacre when TFA started so Ben would be 23 when he turned. But I don't how legit it is. Here is the link. It's under "History"  __________________

Yea it’s just got me
cause could have sworn they had something in the books that came out after TO before TFA can’t take me at face value cause haven’t read any literature of SW - I’ve got movies and animated series__________________
