It's funny, sometimes Christopher Lee could be brilliant and some he most emphatically wasn't. Dooku was one of the latter cases.

In the big book on making ROTJ there's stuff from back in the '80s in which Lucas says Yoda would be no good in combat. In other words, he doesn't wield a lightsaber. I always thought Yoda was above playing around with lightsabers, too powerful to be limited to that. Palpatine too.
