Star Wars Celebration V Details Announced - Comic Book Resources

Celebration V information announced. I'm pis@ed.

1) it's in Florida, not really that accessible from the midwest
2) it's near the peak of hurricane season
3) it's over my daughter's birthday
4) it's in August, in Florida. We're talking about guys with questionable hygene already in 98 degree heat with 80% humidity
5) Orlando sucks as a city, everything is closed by 9pm, and everthing's over-priced because of disney, universal and sea-world.

I give the idiots at lucasfilm a brilliant round of applause.

I have a lot of issues with Orlando in general. I just don't think it's a nice city.

A little bit of both. Too be honest I'm not a fan of FL period. It has alligators, for one thing. That is the only species that could go extinct and I wouldn't feel bad. Plus the few FL citizens I've spoken to have all seemed extremely stuck up.

It's just not someplace I would not go of my own volition.

I've been lucky that the 2 times I was in Orlando I never saw an alligator. I have seen large birds though.

And it was only for Disney World I went.

Everything is so far away from each other. You REALLY need a car to get anywhere.

I'm not a fan of Florida for the taste in their water. gah. Not to mention love bug season, and that it takes 8 hours to get anywhere, and there are toll roads everywhere, even in orlando.

I also found out that gencon has a major convention 1 week before this happens....seriously. What idiot planned this?

Which really sucks for those of us who don't have a car reliable enough to make the drive and don't have money to rent one. What's the point of visiting a city if the taxis and bus routes suck? I can stay home for that. That's what I like about visiting Chicago and NYC, it's so easy to get places.

There's a lot of alligators turning up in people's gardens in Florida, so I here. No fun. I'm happy to stay away from there. I've also heard of some nasty crimes against tourists there. Like one woman got car jacked and then they drove over her with her own car.
