I’m adding these fan fic recommendations to the OP.

Ok fair warning, these are unfinished and unfortunately have been abandoned for about a decade. So it’s frustrating that they are left off on cliff hangers. However, I still love them. They’re memorable and have stayed with me even years later. I reread them from time to time I love them so much. Even though it leaves me heartbroken that they’re unfinished.

I'm part-way into a rewatch of Attack of the Clones,and I absolutely love the way that the film establishes and develops the relationship between Padme and Anakin.

The scene by the fireplace on Naboo is and has always been one of my favorite sequences from any of the Star Wars films, and is brilliantly performed by both Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen.

The scene is also made all the more perfect by the fact that, despite its resolution, it describes the very situation that the two characters end up putting themselves in by the conclusion of the movie.

Also, there is so much foreshadowing. The fireplace....Mustafar.
Padmé is wearing a corset and choker which represents when her breathing is restricted as Anakin chokes her.

I saw that on tumblr once and it blew my mind.

Rewatching Revenge of the Sith last night led me to a new headcanon interpretation of Padme's death: she and Anakin shared a dyadic connection through the Force, and he was subconsciously draining her life-energy as Palpatine made him "more machine than man".

Oh I’ve heard that theory! I like it better than the other similar theory that Palpatine was draining her life force to save Vader.
