Dark Side | The Empire #1

You loved hating them....most of you loved them anyway. They were efficient, orderly. They controlled vast squardons of fighters, fleets of Star Destroyers, armies of At-At's and storm troopers. They were the empire. United under the fierce visage of their emperor and awesome Darth Vader, there was no force that could stop them, yet the rebellion prevailed do to a momentary weakness.

This is a thread dedicated to them. Feel free to discuss any aspect of the empire from the sith backgrounds of it's rulers to the most mundane what if's. But enjoy.

Ok.

First discussion on the topic. Are there any SithLadys hanging around waiting to take over the galaxy?

Sick Boy 01-22-2004 03:22 PM

I heard rumors that there could be one in teh next movie. A Sith Witch or something.

Aurra Sing might be one.

Cryostar 01-22-2004 06:56 PM

Assaj Ventress is currently in the cartoon series, but I don't know if she'll make it to the movies or not. Would be cool if she did, as dooku's apprentice.

Lorency 01-25-2004 08:14 AM

That would become very interesting to see.
Who was the one who first turned over to the dark side and started all the sith stuff?

That's a good question. I'm not even sure if there's an answer. I know Dark Horse Comics have gone back 5000 years and the sith existed then, in greater numbers, as there was a sith / jedi war, where hundreds, if not thousands of warriors went at each other with their respective lightsabers. The sith might be much older than that.

One of the great mysteries of the series - how does the Emperor mass such an enormous quantity of troops and warships in just a 20-year timespan? Ahh well, it's sci-fantasy; we're no supposed to ask those quesitons

It's amazing how fast people will work when their lives depend on it? As for the troops...heck, he just made them by the millions :P

Once he had the cloning technology, it was just a matter of time.

Sick Boy 01-27-2004 01:26 AM

Cloning rules!

Let's make sheep.

Or perhaps an army of genetically mutated, ill-tempered sea bass?

Sorry, watched Austin Powers today

Has anyone else considered looking into making their own stormtrooper suit? A couple of friends and I were seriously looking at knocking a few sets together, but decided it was too much work in the end. There are some good guides online though but they're not for those who aren't serious; the fiberglass they talk about using can physically meld to the skin when you make your cast

I've not made one, but I'm wanting to make my own R2-Q5...the all black imperial astromech in publicity shots for ROTJ.

I know the 501st have some good plans for making one, they even have their own working speaker system and imbedded microphone.

Sick Boy 01-29-2004 10:36 AM

ahh that sounds scary. But hmm sounds cool to me.

Would be cool to have your own set of armor.

That sounds like a lot of work. To answer your question, no.

That sounds intruiging, but difficult. Unless you're really mechanically inclined.

Sick Boy 01-29-2004 06:00 PM

Damn we sound all nerdy, or wanting to be on battle bot wars or some *****.

Cryostar 01-29-2004 07:25 PM

I got hooked on astromechs at Celebration II...and joined the R2 builders group. A decent R2 will run you like $2000, but an official member of the group is Don Bies, the guy that built the first R2-D2.

And you can make pretty much any imperial armour you want. The 501st has plans for most of the troopers.
