the Holocaust analogy is pretty blatant IMHO

Quote:
This theory claims that Toy Story 3 was written as an analogy to the Holocaust. The toys become more and more unwelcome in Andy's life, as the Jews did. They are forced into dark toyboxes, like ghettos. Then they are sent away. Lots-O' Huggin' Bear would represent the Nazi Germany dictator Adolf Hitler, and the daycare itself would represent a concentration camp. The toys that inhabit the daycare would represent the Jews that were driven to the concentration camps, and the incinerator symbolizes the ovens that slain Jews were burned in. Also according to this theory, during the scene in which Woody was talking about his and the other toys' futures, Buzz stood up and pitched the idea to Woody about them possibly going to the attic. This could be an allusion to Anne Frank's story, because she and her family hid in the attic for 25 months before the Nazis came to take them to the concentration camp.

that's really sad was not blatant for me before, now totally getting it

definitely these movies are for adults tbh.

also they use those baby dolls very badly, they creep me out too! but I actually liked the one in the first movie. Sid was bad but he was creative, you gotta give him that

still this creeped me out more

toy story 4 horror movie

Sid was a future serial killer, what a disturbing and screwed up kid. Yeah, the monkey and especially those ventriloquist dummies were creepy as hell.

Whilst I know quite a lot about the harrowing story of the Holocaust, I never saw that connection with Toy Story 3. It's an interesting theory, and I can see some analogies seeping through, it's still two unbelievably different situations. There's some comparisons to be made with the film The Great Escape. However, whilst the toys went through a lot, and Lotso was undeniably evil, the horrors of the Holocaust cannot even begin to compare to even the darkest of the Toy Story films. Nothing can compare.

The imagery may be there, but I don't see it. I prefer to see it as what the movie is at face value, as what if toys are alive and what would happen if they get thrown away. The reality of Andy growing up and not playing with his toys anymore. The reality of the younger kids rough playing with the toys. Toy Story had Sid, Toy Story 2 had Stinky Pete, Toy Story 3 has Lotso, there had to be another villain more dastardly than the one before.

I have never seen toy story like that and I honestly wouldn’t want any connections between them too. Sometimes people see different parallels.

What’s this?
