One word:

Money.

The basic cycle is that someone like HD or LL starts out in Disney movies, or on a Disney show, gains popularity...

And then their agent(s) want more money because they know that their client(s) will make Disney more money and they want a piece of that.

What happened with HD was that she wanted a million dollars an episode of Lizzie McGuire for the fourth season.

The reason she had the audacity to demand that much was because her singing career was taking off and she knew she could walk if they didn't pay her... And she did.

Also, the LM Movie is not a Disney movie.

It was made by the producers of the show, but then Disney agreed to distrubte the film under their name for a huge fee because they knew they'd be missing out on huge profits because I think the film made like $30 million its opening weekend -- mostly due to Duff's name -- A few years ago. That's pretty good for a movie based on a TV show with a limited (cable) audience that is mostly 'tween girls.

So, basically, what we saw here with HD and LL is basic business to a tee in terms of how the entertainment industry works.

I liked this movie. I had a huge crush on Shawn Ashmore when I watched it, but my hatred for Romano just grew, and so did my love for Hilary.

Shawn Ashmore is so cute in this movie! "You gotta spit..." Ok, I'll admit I've seen this movie to many times

He he I love their drill team routines!!! And the "one girl revolution" song, it went well with the movie. I remember watching this movie in like 4rd grade and wanting to join the military.....acutally maybe i was a little older cuz now im in 9th...hillary isnt that old is she?

oh, yeah, it is i think it's been out on dvd for awhile here, maybe a couple of months, not sure, yeah, i like Cadet Kelly, of course because i love hilary she's great in it, i liked the whole movie too, Christy Carlson Romano is great in it too, i think she still does disney movie's, sometime's, not really sure, and the one girl that play's Hilary's character's bunkmate, Andrea Lewis who's on degrassi now, it's a great movie overall.

I've never really liked Hilary Duff, but this movie is really cute. And the fact that Shawn Ashmore is in it deffintally helps with my aproval of it.

It was cheesy, but I still liked it! Well, it does have to do with the fact Hil's in it. I pretty much endure all of her movies just b/c she's in it.
