It has been confirmed that a sequel will be happening.
But do you think a film can work without Genie? Considering they turned him back into human form at the end.

I don't think you can have Aladdin without the genie. He is an essential part of the movie.

Reinstated powers? who knows. They could use the second animated film as a guide.

I guess if the sequel will be a remake of "The Return of Jafar" the Genie will come back. In general though, he has to come back anyway cause he's the most popular character in the franchise so I'm sure he'll be back lol.

This is exactly what I thought too. He is very high-energy and charming while the others are sort of moody and worrysome. He is needed for the movie to have the right mood so I really don't know how could it work.

I’d be cool with a return of jafar remake!
