Marlena (WFE) #3: "In an age of special effects & phony spectacle, it's a pleasure to see a movie made of real people."
Welcome to the 3rd Marlena Rosenbluth (Water for Elephants) Thread! http://26.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_l4...mqbuo1_500.jpg Cast: "Jacob" - Robert Pattinson "Marlena" - Reese Witherspoon "August" - Christoph Waltz "Old Jacob" - Hal Holbrook "Wade" - Stephen Taylor "Kinko" - Mark Povinelli "Cecil" - E.E. Bell "Lucinda" - Jackie Zane http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_l4...tadco1_500.png Summary: When Jacob Jankowski (Robert Pattinson), recently orphaned and suddenly adrift, jumps onto a passing train, he enters a world of freaks, drifters, and misfits, a second-rate circus struggling to survive during the Great Depression, making one-night stands in town after endless town. A veterinary student who almost earned his degree, Jacob is put in charge of caring for the circus menagerie. It is there that he meets Marlena (Reese Witherspoon), the beautiful young star of the equestrian act, who is married to August (Christoph Waltz), the charismatic but twisted animal trainer. He also meets Rosie, an elephant who seems untrainable until he discovers a way to reach her. Water for Elephants is illuminated by a wonderful sense of time and place. It tells a story of a love between two people that overcomes incredible odds in a world in which even love is a luxury that few can afford. Reese talks Water for Elephants: Follow the film's director on Twitter for filming updates --> Francis Lawrence. See a picture of the beautiful elephant, Tai, who is playing "Rosie" here. Thanks for the new one, Meg!
WFE has now made $105 million worldwide. So glad it hit the $100 million mark! |
Thanks for the new thread  Great title.

No problem loves!
I'm continually stunned in the best way possible by the numbers this movie is making, it's just so great. Thanks for the updates Miss Linds! |
Not a problem! I'm super thrilled as well.
|
I can't wait for this to be on DVD. It would be so amazing if Reese & Rob do commentary.
|
Oh, I would die. I'm such a nerd when it comes to commentaries. lol.
|
I am too. I watch them all - it's like my favorite thing. In fact, just on Saturday I listened to the Superbad & The 40-Year-Old-Virgin commentary.
I always laugh because in almost all of them, especially the movie ones, someone always says "...like anybody is going to listen to this" or "there's like 4 people who will hear this" and I always say out loud, "I'M LISTENING!" "I'M ONE OF THE FOUR" like a big nerd. LOL. |

I love that I'm not the only one who does that, seriously.
|
I always listen to the commentaries as well. I had one movie with a commentary where you couldn't hear one of the people doing the commentary. It sounded like they were off in the distance somewhere. I had to turn the volume all the way up and press my ear up against the TV speaker so I could just barely hear what they were saying, while everyone was basically screaming in my ear. I did that for the entire movie just so I could listen to the commentary. :P
A commentary for this movie would be so great! :D I'd love to hear what they had to say about the movie. |
Wow, that's dedication. Hah. I hate when people aren't all in the same room and reactions are delayed, or they have no idea what's happening the entire time.
|
Wow, you get the prize! That is dedication.
And oh my God Linds so much word to that. I haaaate when they aren't in the same room too. For those reasons and I think that it takes away from the chemistry of the commentary. If that makes any sense. |

DUDE WHAT IN THE ACTUAL HELL THAT JUST REMINDED ME I HAVE NOT LISTENED TO ANY OF THE ~TWILIGHT SAGA~ COMMENTARIES. THIS IS THE BIGGEST FAILURE OF MY LIFE.
And it will be fixed pronto. |
