After leaving Alabama to pursue a career in fashion in New York City, Melanie’s past suddenly comes back to haunt her when her finance in New York proposes to her unaware Melanie is already married to her redneck high school sweetheart back in Alabama. It's one of my most-watched films, one that I'll never, ever tire of seeing. The cast, the story, the soundtrack, it's all perfection.
The ironic thing is that when the promos for the movie first came out, I brushed it off as being just another one of those silly chick flicks, and so it wasn't until several years later that I ended up seeing it. I was sad knowing I'd missed out on it for so long, but I think I've made up for it with the number of times I've seen it since then. It stands out above all other romantic comedies for me.  __________________

That's interesting that you wrote it off initially. I can see why someone might judging solely from the previews, though. I saw it in theaters to support Reese and it was instant love. I remember having to choke back tears during the cemetery scene because I hate crying in theaters, lol.
