since they are on the trip right now it's time to open a thread.

First, we'll start with the BBC Long Way Down website. The site is divided into 6 sections: Route Map, Route Log, Features, The Team, About the Trip and Mobile. We'll concentrate on the Route Log and the Features (should that section get updated), but it doesn't mean the other sections are not worth visiting.

The Route Map contains a Google Map of their route, along with their approximate location and links to their Route Logs. The Team contains links to logs of the members of the Long Way Down team. About the Trip is self-explanatory, and Mobile is to get extra content on your mobile phone for those lucky enough to live in the U.K.

Features contains the following articles and videos:
The Hazards (video: The Training)
The Trip (video: Survival Training)
Preparing for the trip (videos: Fitness Training and Dai on bites)
The Route (video: Working on the route)
The Bikes (video: Discussing the bikes)

Route Log contains the following articles, pictures and videos:

EWAN MCGREGOR chatted to Radio1 DJ Chris Moyles this morning, plugging his latest adventure, The Long Way Down. Ewan and Charley will be heading from John O'Groats, Scotland to Cape Town in South Africa.

The trip will take 3 months and will see the riders and their support crew cross 20 countries in 3 months. Again, the pair will be riding on BMW Adventure bikes, this time, the R1200 GS Adventure.

Today's radio chat was with the team while they were stopping off in Florence. Their next country will be Tunisia, followed by Libya.

Moyles, Radio1's popular DJ, joked that he'll be taking on his own adventure, the Long Big Cake. Sounds about right!

I hope they don't edit their trip through Europe to be this quick zip through. They did it with LWR.

What's up? Not much, except a new obsession (hint - see my av and sig). I do still lurk on this board ... have to know what Ewan is doing and when I can catch him at the movies again.

I heard from TFN that while Ewan and Charley were in Tunisia (recently), they visited the site of the homestead from ANH/AOTC/ROTS

That has to make it into the show. Ewan and his Star Wars nerdiness
