Nothing happens in the series sex-wise that parents should be concerned about. They should be more concerned with Bella being a needy, co-dependent girl.

I could say the same for Edward and Jacob. Their lives revolve around Bella.
I can see Jacob learning to move on. But Edward..a small misunderstanding thinking Bella killed herself and he's ready to commit suicide himself.

are there any characters in the book who aren't pathetic?

The supporting characters.

The title is dedicated to Rachel and her soon-to-be husband :glow:

Thanks for the new thread.

I think the only characters that I could say I liked where treated shoddily by the author after they opposed Bella and Edward.

Awww!!!! How sweet of you to dedicate the thread title to little old me and my future hubby. I feel special. :D

Thanks. Sadly, due to said nuptials, I will probably be MIA around here starting next week. We're not doing the honeymoon right away, though, so I won't be gone for too long thereafter. ;)

I was thinking of Jacob (who went from best friend to "let's maul her". Um, what?) and Charlie (the clueless father who sees his daughter engaged to the guy who left her in such a horrible emotional state and said "I'll let your mother deal with it" even though the mother is a flake?).

It was annoying how Stephenie was like, "I need to have Bella/Edward get married, so Charlie will be completely OK with Bella marrying someone Charlie sees as an ass."

they don't do anything.

I am excited to hear/read about it :)
When/where will be the honeymoon?

That was OOC. And just sloppy, lazy writing. What she did was for Breaking Dawn she went back to her first Twilight sequel, Forever Dawn, which existed before there was a New Moon and an Eclipse novel. There are very little differences between the two Dawn's.
So, in Forever Dawn Edward never left. No huge reason for Charlie to be upset about the marriage. But then when she wrote NM and Eclipse and those became canon, she should not have gone back to reuse FD details, cause that became irrelevant.

Make sense?

LilMouse 04-21-2010 09:30 AM

and this is why SMeyer isn't a real writer.

Okay, I...didn't know that and I'm pissed off. You'd think I couldn't be surprised by her actions but this surprised me.

I promise I will share some wedding pics when I return. :D As for the Honeymoon, we hope to go to Europe (Paris, in particular) sometime later this year. For now we are just going to spend a couple days post-wedding in a Mountain resort in upstate NY.

I wish I could partake in the Twilight criticism convo, but having not read the books, nor seen the films I really have nothing to add. :look:

LilMouse 04-21-2010 07:29 PM

I'd say to read the books, but it's not really a MUST in life.

Paris is a great honeymoon destination - not that I know from personal experience - but you can't go wrong with Paris.

firewall 04-22-2010 12:48 PM

Yeah, I think my reading list is long enough. I shouldn't weigh it down with books that I've heard such negative things about. ;)

I'm kind of glad we are waiting to go to Paris now. The whole volcano thing has made flying to Europe all kinds of crazy. I'd hate to have planned a honeymoon that would have gotten delayed.

Happy Earth Day, ladies! :flowers:
