I didn't even scroll down because the second choice does: Afrikaans! :)

Just now I thought it was Monday so time to watch Love It Or List It, but saw The Property Brothers were on, and said, oh, it's Tuesday, but then realized today was actually Wednesday... :goof: Currently watching Love It Or List It on On Demand two days later. :lmao:

 what's my excuse?

oooh Afrikaans. I know one word in Afrikaans (baie dankie ) thanks to two people I met on a cruise

I really want to see a Love it Or List It where the couple says they love it but then change their mind and go with the house David showed them.

You have been working from home for 6 months.

S.A.S.H.A. 09-24-2020 09:46 PM

I scrolled down real quick and Scots also has the same endings. :)

LilMouse 09-25-2020 04:09 PM

Why is the Scottish "Thursday" so close to "Friday"? That will get confusing.

Think you can pronounce the Irish words?

S.A.S.H.A. 09-26-2020 03:20 PM

If taught how to.

LilMouse 09-26-2020 06:18 PM

I think for me, even then, I'd butcher the pronunciation.

BehrItAll 09-26-2020 08:46 PM

Sometimes the tongue can't form those sounds.

S.A.S.H.A. 09-26-2020 11:04 PM

Well, depends on the tongue, I guess. I can say drawer, so I'm willing to give it a shot. :)

LilMouse 09-27-2020 12:18 PM

When people are babies they can move their tongue any way they want and say any word. Then they get older and the ability gets lost.

BehrItAll 09-27-2020 08:06 PM

^ Yea. They actually studied that and we lose the ability to form our tongues in the right ways to make the correct sound.

Which is why when people learn a second language later in life they speak with thick accents.

S.A.S.H.A. 09-27-2020 09:32 PM

That's why it's best to learn a language when young. You're a sponge at that age. :) If not, then you'll most likely just sound like JLM when speaking Spanish. Sounds fluent to non-Spanish speakers, but native speakers are like WTF? :look:

I forgot to do the count last week so...

I'd have so much trouble moving my tongue if I had to speak French.
