Younger Bilbo Baggins/Martin Freeman Appreciation #1 ~

It's funny, I had forgotten about him being in Hitchhiker's Guide and I've seen it. I was too blown away by how bright blue Zooey's eyes were.

But LOVE him in Sherlock though!

I know! I think the cast were surprised that people really enjoyed the mini-series so much...I hope they start up again soon!

And I wonder if Martin is prepared for the popularity that will come with being Bilbo!

The hype about the LotR cast should have provided him - and the rest of the cast - with some clues.

Perhaps he thinks it will not be as crazy this time?

Freeman 'almost turned down The Hobbit'
Monday, February 7 2011, 01:50 GMT
By Tara Fowler

Martin Freeman has revealed that he almost turned down the role of Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit.

Freeman spoke to Total Film about having to reject the offer due to commitments to BBC series Sherlock, until director Peter Jackson changed the shooting schedule to accommodate him.

"I had to turn it down because of being contractually obliged to do the second series of Sherlock for the BBC, which we are doing in the middle of this year," said Freeman.

He continued: "When I found out I couldn't do both it was very sad. And then it was very flattering when Peter Jackson rearranged the filming around my availability."

The Hobbit will be divided into two parts. Part 1 is expected to open in cinemas in 2012, with Part 2 opening in 2013.

Hmm..he was in the British's version of The Office...the movie - Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Love Actually and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

And he's now in BBC's Sherlock which is a really good series playing Watson.
