Perfect title! Heh. It's genius.
Can Eowyn be added to the title somewhere? Like Eowyn thread, or Eowyn Appreciation, or something, so that new posters will know the thread is for her. Thanks for starting Lulu. __________________

Hey, cool title, though I agree you should changed the title to say "Eowyn" or "Miranda Otto". Still, it's nice! As you can see, I'm totally full of Eowyn enthusiasm write now (i.e. my avatar and signiture). YAY! She kicked major witch-king ass!!!

Abby! How's your holidays? Hope the rest of your holidays is splendid and joyful.
Johanna: Beautiful avatar and sig. I'd like to thank Miranda, PJ, and everyone who worked on Eowyn's scenes. I can't wait for the EE to hear what PJ and Co. have to say about shooting the WK scene especially. __________________

Hello, I was way too tired over the weekend to post on all of the LOTR threads I wanted to post on. I'm new to the LOTR board, mostly because I hadn't finished reading the books until last week, so I wanted to avoid spoilers.
Eowyn is such an amazing inspiration. I can't believe some people criticized Tolkien for his portrayal of women when there was Eowyn (and Galadriel too). I've read quite a few of the classic science fiction and fantasy books (by men) and I think Tolkien was one of the best at portraying women characters who weren't total doormats or damsels in distress. I can't quite describe the feeling I had in the theatre when Eowyn killed the Witch-King. I was so proud of her! I was disappointed that the Houses of Healing part was removed, so I can't wait for the EE. __________________

Bee, I added "Eowyn/Miranda Otto Appreciation Thread" into the title, I hope it's okay the way I put it.
Soz, I added you. And I totally agree about being proud of her when she killed the Witch-King. I was so happy for her when she finally got to battle, because it was obvious how much she wanted to fight and help save Middle Earth in The Two Towers. I really admire her courage and determination of both Eowyn and Miranda. Lulu __________________

Ola! Of course I remember you! How are you?
You haven't seen it yet? You'll love it! It's the best of the three! Umm, I was just wondering, does the title bother you since it's kind of spoilery? Lulu __________________

Oh I'm tired but happy. And you?
I was wondering where have you been but I realised I'm only on LoTR board lately No, the title is great and I've read the books so I know what'll happen (but you know, I can't wait to see Mirry, Viggo and Orli. And Billy and Elijah! Ok, enough. Oh, and Sean! ) |

Hey all
I just watched the ROTK today and I just want to say: all hail PJ!! I'm so upset that its over tho. The fate of Middle Earth should hang in the balance for just a little longer...I need more LOTR!! Anywayz I thought Miranda was brilliant in ROTK! Awesome girl power stuff!! I walked around the whole day going: "I am no woman!" My family thinks I'm nuts but hey Eowyn's my hero! BTW I'm new to this thread __________________

Welcome to the thread, Mooshu.
Aww, thanks Lulu! Looks good. Mooshu just joined us, so your title is doing it's work. Hey Soz! I remember seeing you on the GW thread and I agreed with your post 100%. And to no surprise, I agree with you here too! Abby: I still love ER as much as ever but I've sorta left the fandom, even though I love m'girls and I love the show. OMG! I'm in California! I'm glad you're enjoying your vacation with you and your family. Yep I remember you're from Phils - I like that name. __________________

I totally agree. I was so glad she pretended to be a man so she could go into battle. I'll admit I was spoiled for the Eowyn slays the Witch-King part of the books by something I read in an LOTR discussion (I think it started as a complaint about the lack of strong female characters in LOTR), but I kept wondering how the heck she was able to get close to him. And I didn't even figure out for a while that Dernhelm was really Eowyn (in the book, obviously). Blairy the Fairy, I'm glad we are in agreement. This is sort of off topic, but the Eowyn and the Witch-King scene reminded me a lot of a scene in the book The Hero and the Crown by Robin McKinley. Anyone else here read it? I wouldn't say McKinley was ripping off Tolkien, but it's obvious to me that LOTR was a big inspiration for her. My favorite fantasy (and science fiction) stories (books, TV, or movies) all have kick-butt women characters in them. __________________
