Yeah, he had that air of being too good to be true...

The actor was/is a perfect choice for Sauron though - as he makes you believe that Sauron could sell himself as a benevolent leader...

I didn't know at all, not until just before Galadriel found out. They fooled me. There were so many suggestions of other people perhaps being Sauron, that I didn't see it.

For me the first clue was that I didn't remember having anyone named Halbarand in the lotr books, appendices

So I kept a closer eye on him, waiting for the other shoe to fall...

... The revelation scene was still impressive, and I look forward to him as Sauron, though as a villain it will be harder to connect with the character...

I'm really not sure in what direction they will go in for his character, after all there did seem to be redeemable characteristics to him. I wonder if they will play with that or just go full evil?

I didn't suspect him from the beginning of being Sauron.. but I did think he was kind of sus.

I think they want to keep his human, redeemable qualities as well up to an extent, and play on the fact that he wants to achieve peace on Middle Earth too - and according to his standards, he's doing it the only right way...

If done well, it would make ROP more liked, and maybe Charlie would get more credit for bringing Sauron to life too...

Yes I hope that's true. He deserves the credit,it will be interesting to see how he plays the character going forward.

I wonder if he knew the true identity of the character?
